I purchased 2 sets of recoil springs from Kahr, I already new the inner spring was heavier gauge with14 coils instead of 15. My old inner spring is much lighter gauge and more relaxed. When I put the new set in I barley was able to lock the slide back, then to the range's I went. My P380 has about 450 rounds through it and broke in, running BB Barns 80gr +P like a clock and these are my carry ammo. 1st mag with new set of recoil springs the 2nd round did not feed, third round did not get picked up at all, I think I had one stove pipe so I stopped, broke the gun down and put my old set of recoils springs in and ran 3 6 round mags through it without a hiccup. I went home and tried a solution that a gentlemen uses, he locks his slide back for a couple days. Went to range with the new set of recoil spring needless to say the gun ran 3 mags with the settled in springs without a hiccup.
I also solved a slide lock issue, every so often it would not lock back, I tweaked the slide lock spring a little up to take some pressure of the slide lock, now it locks back perfectly.
The picture below shows that the bottom inner spring is settled in about a coil shorter after setting 2 days locked back and run superb.

The picture below also shows the outer spring settled in a dab shorter.

The picture below shows the angle of the slide lock spring that working for me.(it don't take much)

Thank you for this informative post. I have the budget-minded cousin to your gun. My CW380 gave me fits on the first two range visits. I sent the gun back to the factory for multiple issues. After it came back it has fired and ejected every round over two more range trips without issue.

I do have some issues similar to yours that aren't directly tied to firing, feeding or ejection. I had a slight out of battery problem where the slide could be pushed back with one finger pressure on the front of the slide. The slide would not return fully forward. I called Kahr and they sent me two new recoil springs. The inner spring seemed ridiculously long. Of course the problem was that my original inner spring had "taken a set" as they say. The new springs seem to have helped that problem.

My only remaining issue with my CW is the very slide lock problem that you had. Mine will hold open on the last shot sometimes but not always.

I was happy to find your post with pics. Thanks.

Sounds like you have a handle on that P380 there, marine. I hope that you enjoy it as much as this old sailor enjoys his.

Well back to the range yesterday to finalize my test with the new shorter heavier inner spring, had 3 FTF on my 1st Mag. Not what I expected at all but at least I know that the new style spring just doesn't give me the warm fuzzy I need. My P380 just functions perfectly with the 15 coil older spring, put the old set back in and ran 2 mags superbly. Now if someone on here has the older inner recoil spring(thinner wire -15 coils) setting around and wants to get rid of it I'll send you 2 new inner's.
