My FFL got my PM9 in today and I went for it this afternoon.
My very first impression was, this gun is substantial. I traded out a Ruger LCP and in comparison it felt like a toy.
Second impression, it is not much bigger than the LCP and it is a 9mm.
Third impression, quality! I took it apart and followed the PM9 prep that is listed in the forum. Very nice, indeed. I racked it about 100 times and got tired of doing it. More tomorrow before I head to the range.
Fourth impression, the recoil spring is stiff, but not too stiff. I put in some snap caps and tried a "sling shot" approach and every round fed reliably. They also fed by pushing the slide stop lever.

My current IWB holster is ready and eager to be put on to carry this mini-9. I also ordered a bare asset from High Noon Holsters here in Florida. Maybe by next week I will have it. I like IWB for small guns.

I will post again after I have put 200-300 rounds through it.

I'll be interested to get your impressions after you get back from the range. From a seated, bench-rest position, I'd be surprised if the bullet holes didn't overlap. Unlike Glock, Sig, and others, Kahr actually does sight in their guns, so it's probably going to be the most accurate out-of-the-box experience you'll have ever had.

Mike,
Congrats on your recent purchase. I trust you will enjoy your PM9 as much as the do the rest of us.

It didn't take me long to order a High Noon Slide Guard holster, in horsehide, for my PM9. The company makes some nice leather, IMO.

Why not pocket carry, folks?

I pocket carry a S&W 340PD snubbie with Crimson Trace 405 grips, and am lurking here to consider getting down to one handgun caliber (I shoot IDPA with a Glock 19) with the PM9 with Crimson Trace laser.

If there's a reason the PM9 doesn't pocket carry well in any non-skintight trousers or shorts, please let me know, because I consider that the only always-with-me carry method.

Thanks for any info!

I predict you're going to love it so much...you'll buy a PM45 as well. You know for those times when you need to carry something BIGGER>:puke:

I picked up my new PM9 on 23rd also, cleaned and lubed it, went outside and put twenty five flawless rounds through it. Very pleased. I have the P380 and PM40 also.

Hi Handlebar, After you go to the range,be sure to let us know how things went.On a side note, where does your moniker come from? Do you like to ride bikes or do you have a really killer moustache?

I shot 225 rounds and no problem. My moniker as you so aptly put it, comes from my mustache. It is large and I let a natural curl form on the ends. I have not trimmed since 1973, except for the very ends. I will post a pic.

Nice mustache indeed. I just recently trimmed mine for the first time in many many years. My wife says I don't have an upper lip without one so doesn't want me to cut it off. I looked like yosemite sam for awhile.

Do we need to address you as "Professor", looks like cap and gown day. Either your the Professor or you spent a long time in the 3rd grade. If it's the latter you might know me, I was there for a long time too. Teacher was hot. I think thats about the time I started growing a mustache too.

No need for Professor. I do, however, teach High School science and that was at graduation. I have been teaching since 1973, and I am getting tired of the day to day drudge/battle to keep their attention. Next summer I will be 62 and hope to retire from school. I am currently taking courses to be an Medical Assistant. A second career away from the classroom.

BTW, all academia are not flaming liberals, I know that I am as conservative as they come. My colleagues tell me I am just right of Genghis Khan. Many of my friends are liberal and we argue constantly. I just tell them, when the next "revolution" comes, don't be coming to me for help. They laugh, but I think the real joke will be on them.

the pm9 pocket carries wonderfully in a DeSantis Nemesis Superfly. the adjustable velcro'd flap makes it possible to ZERO print. It'll work in jeans, too.
