Got woken up by my dog going crazy in the back yard. Immediately grabbed my CW9 of the night stand and flipped on the outside lights. Don't know if it was the dog or the lights coming on but one of them scared someone off. Walked to the carport and my wife's car had been broken into. I went back inside and called the PD and let them come out to do a check of the yard. Car is fine but her work laptop was stolen. Needless to say I am worked up and sitting in bed gun by my side. Glad I have my puppy and my gun and that everyone is safe.

You said it, everyone is safe and the thief (probably a kid) owns a POS windows computer. I'm glad you didn't have any confrontation.

Glad to hear everyone`s safe. I know the feeling of sleeplessness. awhile back had some stuff stolen from the yard and garage, thieves eventually caught at a neighbors, took a plea when threatened with trial. That`s when i decided to look for a block 30sf but found a cw45 instead. Also, as a deterrent, installed some cameras to help gather evidence just in case.

It is a shame that so many take to stealing from others. That individual put both themselves and you at risk. I hope the person(s) wises up before someone gets seriously hurt and their live changed for the worse. I glad that you and your family are safe even though shaken up.

Glad all is ok....but in today's world why would anyone leave a laptop in vehicle? Times have changed and not for the better.

We normally don't leave the laptop in there but sometimes **** happens and you forget. Talking to the cops they said it likely was an adult and well I will stop short of the rest of the description so I don't get accused of being racist :)

Negligence on the part of a property owner should not be an approval or justification for some dirtbag to take said property.
Plea bargains and wrist slaps do not cure the problem. I have solutions but I'm trying to lose my reputation of face shoot first and ask questions later.

We have a similar issue here in Austin, Texas but our demographics are different.
White - 386,937 43.1%
Hispanic - 301,349 34%
Black - 77,936 8.8%
American Indian - 9,361 1.1%
Asian - 66,046 7.5%
Native Hawaiian - 1,083 .1%
Other Race - 48,196 5.4%
Property crime everywhere and in downtown Austin, muggings seem to be the most common crimes here.

The way I see it a man give up a portion of his life to acquire his possessions. When someone steals from you they are taking a portion of your life. Anyone who demonstrates a willingness to take a part of my life is putting himself in a position to lose his.

Wow, that's profound. Kind of a PC correct way to say shooting them in the face is justified.
Crap, I think I fell off the wagon again.

Puppy got lots of treats!
sadly a lot of the 47% is on welfare a not a benefit to the town even though we have tons of well paying refinery jobs. Some people have no ambition to improve themselves.

Enjoy your early 30's my friend. The bitter old man phase definitely has its negative aspects..................
