New to Kahr, and this forum, but not to pistols and long guns. Picked up my 40 about three weeks ago at a local gun show new for $305, a pretty good deal I believe?!?! I ordered 300 rounds of Freedom Munitions remans and bought a box of Hornady CD to complete the break-in in one day. I picked it up from a local FFL, took it home and cleaned it thoroughly with Hoppes and lubed it with AMSOIL MP. Sunday I ran 325 rounds through it without a single issue! The slide is MUCH more user friendly now and other than one slight slide bite (I also have revolvers - stupid me), a blister on the web between my thumb and index finger and a rash from the checkering on the grip all went extremely well. I am impressed overall. I also put 100 rounds through my 1911 and a box of 15 shells through my 870. I already ordered a Talon wrap in hopes of taming the checkering on the grip. May get a Hogue sleeve/grip as well if needed. Lots more pop/snap than my 1911. Can't wait to get back out!!!
Cheers,
Derek

Congrats on a fine firearm. Mine has been flawless from day one. Highly recommend the Hogue Handal Jr grip sleeves. They work great.

Same with mine. I haven't had it fail, and haven't found any ammo that won't cycle. I like mine a lot.

Like the CW40 but not the snappy kick. Fired a CW45 that someone had a the range and needless to say I bought one tonight from CTD. If anyone is interested in perfect performing CW40 at a reasonable price lemme know. Includes everything that was in the box plus one extra 6 round mag as well as an extended 7 round mag. I already have a 1911 so I have the ammo, just waiting for the new one to arrive!!!!

I got my CW40 over the holidays and never had a problem. I stopped using Talons because they would start to peel off after awhile. Hogue or Pachmayr are the way to go.

I bought the ported barrel from Kahr for the CW40, and it helps some with the muzzle flip. Did it help $150 worth? Hard to say, but it helps.

Update - I ditched the CW40 for the CW45. MUCH better recoil and therefore easier recovery and easier on the wrist. Added talon grips and a stainless guide rod right away and have put about 300 rounds down range without a single issue. The sights are going to be replaced next. I may go with the Kahr iron night sights unless anyone else has any suggestions?!?!

I shoot a lot of 40cal but, other than LEO's, I believe I'm in the minority. Glad you found a Kahr that you like. Welcome.
My LGS had both a CW40 & CW45. I choose the CW40 mainly because I already own a Shield 40 & stocked up on ammo for that & didnt want to go out & buy a different caliber. Overall I am very satisfied with my Kahr CW40. The recoil is not that bad IMO using 180 gr. FMJ's from Freedom munitions. Federal white box 180 gr. HST's is my carry ammo. My pistol is completly stock other than I added a Hogue handall jr. grip which fills in the palm very nicely along with the finger groove for added control. I dont think you can find a more smoother single stack concealable 40 on the market.
