I noticed my frame has upset corners under the front of the rails where the slide bottoms out on the frame during recoil, is that normal? do I need stronger recoil springs?

Post 4 more time then attach a picture :)

Yes, the recoil spring could need changed if it's causing any damage. Cheap and easy to do and will reduce felt recoil too.

this photo is pretty bad but its the best I could do with my phone, you can see the small lip about 1/4inch in front of the rails on both sides( the one side is way out of focus).
These rounds have been forged by the radius machined on the inside of the front of the slide. Not sure if this is normal wear or not. It doesn't seem to affect function but I'm sure there is some work-hardening occurring in these spots.

Yep. I got 'em too. But "mine runs fine" so I'm not too concerned. Your replacing the recoil spring does sound like a good idea tho.

How'd you get that pic on there with only 27 posts? You get special dispensation from the Colonel?

When in doubt replace the RSA.
It's cheap and easy insurance.

I did not see anything like that on mine, yet... I do need to increase my ammo budget though... If you are feeling bad about this, think of what it would look like on a polymer frame!!!! But seriously, you can even get higher power recoil springs from WOLFF if this got worse...

It's an old pistol, I figured this was just normal wear. I was thinking about upgrading to the Wolff non captured springs anyway, now I've justified the buy.

Yeah, I think the Wolff non captive rod and springs will be my first buy for my MK9 as well...

It's pretty slick, came with a spare firing pin spring too(stock weight)

I changed my springs and rod to Wolff, before I even fired it for the first time................................
