Has anyone smoothed or rounded the edges and/or corners on their rear sights? Mine have ripped into my hand while racking, especially if I loose my grip on the slide. I don't think rounding them off a bit would affect the sight picture. I don't know if they're black through and through or if rounding them would turn the edges silver.

I've rounded off most of mine. Also many other sharp edges. Anything that snags gets rounded.

They will turn silver and you'll have to reblue or blacken them somehow.

I've used and touched up with a sharpy before. It don't last thru a good cleaning but reapply and your good to go.

Thanks to another member here I now have a little bead blaster that I haven't had a chance to put to use yet but I plan to experiment with it on some stainless that is blasted a little too course for my taste.

We'll see how that goes.

I found out on those bead blasters they'll go through one of those blue bottles of material pretty quick. Cant remember which member said they went to the home depot and got a bag of sand but i understand why. I will say it did produce a nice finish but I ended up going for a brushed stainless look afterward. It doesnt take full power to start working the finish I found out.

One day I'm going to get brave and round every edge on my cm9 and blast the whole thing, just haven't done it yet. I can see where a blast cabinet would be really nice too. I need a bigger garage.

That's one reason for my hold up. I hope to build some sort of containment cabinet to recover the stuff and hopefully keep some of it off me too.

A co worker did some bead blasting. He had a similar setup but you blast right back into the container so it more or less recycles but he said the stuff goes every where.
