We like to have a big get together on TG day and most of us will be armed. The conceal part is optional; therefore, I will be sporting my Kimber 1911 TLEII with Bawanna custom grips while passing the stuffing....anyone else? What is your accoutrement for the festive day? Blade of choice? Mine will be the Hand K Tumult OTF.

Since I haven't been able to shoot my new toy yet, it will be the usual MK9.

Those look really fine on that stainless. Does the thumb safety clear enough, looks mighty tight in the picture?
Mine has the same extended safety so I must have allowed for it I hope, I think I did, I better have.
I done one set and forgot to make the notch for the mag release on the right side. Had to take the grips off to get the magazine back out. Awkward.

Wow, it's like you have esp Colonel. I just sent you a message and I mentioned that the clearance for the grip safety was minimal but still functional. Damn good eye you got there to tell that from a photo.

We have a couple of nervous-around-gun types in my family so I will be going with the MK9 IWB...for the concealment. No BBQ guns for this group I am afraid.

+1 for the Bawannagrips.

I've looked at a few over the years. I replied to your PM. Just take a little off as needed. Your safety must be configured just a schosh different than mine. Other option is to cut the safety back a bit but the wood would be a ton easier.

Just kidding on the safety, I never mess with metal much.

Redstate just reminded me...I think I'll wear my Ruger SP101 snubbie. That's a pretty little thing befitting a thankful holiday. Of course I'll carry dad's Case pocketknife.

Retribution for making you sit at the kiddie table?

I enjoys the kiddie table myself, more intelligent conversation and I can be myself.

Who knew that gravy can stain a carpet when launched from a spoon catapult. It was mostly potatoes, didn't realize the gravy was on there. My bad!

Retribution by my brother for being parked at the kiddie table. We was all laughin' at him and he shot a cousin in the face. Fortunately it was Airsoft only at his and at my liberalist sister-in-law's place that year.

Normally, I'd be carrying my trusty HK USPT45.
But this year I'm visiting my parents in the police state known as Kalifornia.
So I'll be disarmed and vulnerable - with just a Spyderco and my wits to protect me.

Not really. He's a Democrat, was on his 4th glass of wine, and was aiming at Steve's foot.

Most of my relatives are fairly mild mannered. My P380 should be enough gun. I thought that liberal democrats weren't allowed to have guns?

P380 for me...

Son-in-law will have his P9 on, for sure and my Brother-in-law will have something between a .22mag derringer and an antique Colt Peacemaker.

Anyone trying to break up our peaceful family dinner to steal the bird will find some trouble.

When my family gets together for the holidays, it is a festival of great food, craft beers, good wine and after dinner drinks, (usually Drambuie:D)...
I don't think it is wise to carry when drinking, so I won't. But if I did, it would be my K40.

This thread is depressing me.
Out of the last 356 days I've packed heat every one of them.
Actually for years.

I really hate Kalifornia.

Happy thoughts now...

If we did that in my family, I'd probably wear my TALO edition of my 686 Plus, or a Stainless Steel 1911 with Bawanna Grips. Those grips look much like the yellowish ones previously pictured. As it is, it will probably be a CM45 concealed.

Good timing, half hour ago there was sawdust 6" deep on that bench. It was time to muck the joint out and restart.

Already a ways towards a mess again too.

I'm thinking I may need a single action revolver myself.
Best of the Best?
What would you recommend?

1911's, s/a Colt's and Rugers, and Smith d/a revolvers. I sometimes wonder why I've messed with much of anything else handgun. Good choice, Col.

Can't go wrong for the money on a Ruger. I have the Ruger version of the above gun with the Birdshead handle. Was told I got the last one they shipped to Washington, don't know if that's true or not.

I like the Uberti a tad better because it's a bit lighter and it works like a SAA. Half Cock, carry with 5, just feels handy.

I love the Ruger though too.

I have 3 44 Super Blackhawks, my daughter has my 357. Bomb proof guns. I love single action revolvers.

Probably end up carrying my cw9 iwb. TG is usually at the in laws and usually consists of a bit of skeet shootin' so ill probably end up dragging an array of shotguns out to accommodate the others around. Fine by me. Wish i had help cleaning them though haha. Funny how they all disappear when it comes time to clean em up.
