Hello guys I just purchased a CW9 from my local gun store. I am from socal :( so wont get it until 12/2/2014. This is my first Kahr Arms pistol, all my other hand guns are Sigs. But I liked how thin and small the CW9 is, I am just hoping its reliable :).

You'll be fine evil homer. I'd go insane having to wait that long to get something I paid for and wanted.

Welcome and keep us posted on how you get along with the CW.

My CM9 is my favorite carry piece. You shouldn't have any problems if you use good quality ball ammunition, clean the gun every 50 rounds and run it wet during the break-in period. Once you're through the break-in period it should run like a fine Swiss watch. Mine eats anything that I feed it.

I totally concur except for the cleaning every 50 round thing. I'd shoot whatever you plan to shoot.

If it balks do a cleaning.

Ah, a cleaning debate. I'll recommend cleaning after every range visit, keeping your CW9 ready as possible all the time. I tend to run things wet (well oiled, don't assume any other meaning) and that seems to work well. You may want to adjust for dry/dusty environments. Good luck!

It's pretty boring here in Ohio so we clean our guns alot. ;) As for how wet to run them: every gun I own has its own prescription for what lube works best and how much. Welcome Evil. I'm sure you'll figure out what your new CW likes.

I clean every single range visit. I just don't stop in the middle of the fun to wash the dishes.

My first PM45 range trip went for 350 rounds. That would have been a lot of cleaning if I did it every 50. Lets see 350 divided by 50, carry the five, move the 3, cross out the 5, well it would have been a lot.

I just cleaned it when I got home.

I tend to lean heavy on oil on all my guns, some probably too much. Just seems like metal running on metal needs oil.

Thanks guys, ill clean/lube this bad boy out as soon as I get it home and shoot 200+ rounds to brake it in. I am pretty excited to shoot it :D

Don't overdo getting excited, you still have to wait till after new year. By then it'll seem like a new gun all over again.

I feel your pain, that wait is messed up.

Range Report. Hay guys well I finally took out my CW9 to the range. First thing I did was give her a nice cleaning, and Froglube bath. I was able to put 200 rounds or so threw it 50 of those first were new ammo, the rest reloads with not one single issue. So far so good cant complain Kahr CW9 great weapon.

Sounds good. I carry my CW40 daily. CW 9/40s are outstanding!
