View Full Version : Took the CM9 out for the first time to day. It's a POS no doubt about it.

I wanted to get the full 200 rounds through it today, but that's a long process with just one 6 rnd magazine. I ordered another one, but of course it showed up today AFTER I got home from shooting. I cleaned it and lubed it using my personal process which is no gun oil, just synthetic wheel bearing grease. Well I did have a touch of oil on the guide rod.
I put 105 rounds through it without a single hitch of any kind. The trigger is nice, I like the sights, and it's actually smoother to shoot than the larger Sccy CPX2, which is oddly a bit more snappy. I shot mostly High Country Ammunition FMJ 124gr, about 10 old PMC Starfire 124gr hollow points, and a bit of PMC FMJ 115gr.
All in all, it's a Pretty Outstanding Shooter. The Sccy is about to be retired from CC duty as I like everything, but the magazine capacity much more with the Kahr.

And I was about to offer my condolences. Glad to read I was mistaken.

I forgot to add, I also installed some Traction Grips yesterday, the newer style that wraps around the front, and boy what a difference those make. I mean I also have them on my Sccy, Ruger SR9 and SR9c so I'm not not new to them, but it really helps the hard bite of the stock front strap. I also ordered some Pearce magazine extensions to try out, but I didn't receive those yet.
So far, the CM9 is a sweet gun.

You don't need a lot of magazine capacity if you can shoot. A lot of rounds will just get you into trouble. For a lot of years we got by with five-shot J-Frames. It just makes you concentrate and shoot efficiently.

Tell that to Darren Wilson. 12 shots fired, 6 hits. His assailant wasn't shooting back. Carry as much capacity as you can.

POS=Pretty Outstanding Shooter, hehehehehehe, over on Wall St., refering to a stock as a POS has a totally different meaning.
(as the giant rhino begins it's charge the gun bearer hands the double barrel .500 nitro to the hunter,.........., the great beast buckled and fell, skidding right up to the hunting party. Yikes! make mine a double. change underwear.......

570 gr.,
2,150 ft/s,
5,850 ft·lbf )
so don't hunt rhino with a 9mm handgun.

I'd carry my Ruger SR9 with 18 rounds on tap if it weren't so big.:D
Yeah, I too am a believer in the more ammo the better, as I'm pretty sure if the time ever comes where I need to pull a gun, I'll not be shooting at my best. All the target practice in the world probably goes out the window the second you think you could die. Concealed (pocket in my case) guns to me are a "it's better than nothing" deal, and in order to be small enough to carry concealed, it has to have limited ammo capacity, but I'd always prefer more if I could. I'll just carry the extra mag I guess, that gives me 13 total at least.
If I heard someone breaking into my house at night, and like I usually do, I had the Ruger and the Kahr both sitting there on the night stand, I'll pick up the Ruger.

If they cold have made a J frame with 12 rounds it would have sold like hot cakes. IMO more is better. Not being a cop or not ever shooting at any person in vain, but also a victim of armed robery in my business, The adrenalin dump at that time is massive. so for this ol man, MORE IS BETTER. Probably wold take me 6 shots jus tto calm down. Just sayin

Probably by most standardfs a pretty good degree of accuracy to. the target was moving to, Darren was not sitting still either, and my bet his pants were full after it was all over..Even though some of the rounds were in the arm area, there was 3 in the torso area and one would have thought a 40 cal hitting u would have stopped you the first round, damn near anywhere, but in this case this was a big big big guy who was on dope and was pissed so all things just added to his being able to take more rounds than one would have thought..
