I have the PM9 & the P380. They are both flawless & I love them. My question is, can the PM9 be made any smaller or lighter. The recoil is minimal now, so not a problem. Maybe cartridge length is problematic for functionality of a smaller gun? Just a thought.
9mm aren't getting any smaller than this

I went from a Kel tec P3AT to the PM9 for my pocket carry and I don’t mind the little extra weight at all. Besides, I’m not so sure I’d want it any less weight when shooting 124 +P loads. The P3AT was a handful when lighting off .380 +P. When not considering capacity and using the no magazine weight of the popular pocket 9’s out there, I think Kahr is where it should be.
Springfield EMP: 20? Walther PPS: 19.4 Taurus 709: 18?
Kahr PM9: 14.8 Kel-Tec PF9: 12.7

True, the Rohrbaugh is smaller and lighter but it`s not nearly as tough as a PM9 and it isn`t rated for +P ammunition. They are very nice handguns but a little too delicate for my needs. Not to mention way overpriced.

Doesn't Rohrbaugh recommend changing the recoil spring every 100 rounds? If so, it wouldn't be much of a range gun.

I`m not 100% sure but I believe that the change intervel is 200 rounds.I called Ian some months ago and he said for the PM9 it`s 1,200 rounds.Like I stated earlier, the Rohrbaugh is a little too delicate for me.

You asked...
"Smaller lighter PM9?"And then you said...
"I have the PM9 & the P380."Hmmm... Me-thinks you just answered your own question!!!
I also have both, and I will for sure carry the PM9 when and where I can. But for those times when even the PM9 is a "tad too much" -- that's where the P380 shines. In my humble opinion.
Tight groups!
