I recently posted about a great Ebay deal I got on a kydex front pocket holster. It arrived today and is everything I expected. Quality is great. Made from a single piece of kydex and the cm9 clicks into place with great retention. In fact, the retention may be a little too good; i.e too tight. It does stay in the pocket when I draw it because the hook does catch properly on the pocket. However, it is difficult to push the holster off in the pocket with the thumb tab. I would like to be able to push it off and not have to depend solely on the hook. Is there a way to lessen the retention a little?

Does it have a retention adjustment screw? That would be method one. Second method; holster and unholster the gun repeatedly. Sit on the couch and push it in and out a couple of hundred times. If option one and two don't work you could try and wrap the gun in some sort of heat safe material for additional size then jam it in the holster and then heat the kydex up then let it cool with the gun in place.

Heat the holster up with something like a heat gun and work the gun in and out to loosen it up. You can push on the kydex with your fingers too to work it out, but use gloves as it holds heat pretty well.

Rack the slide of your CM9 two thousand times. It will strengthen your thumb. :)

I like it.:) I had asked the guy who made it if he would make one with a smooth finish on the outside instead of exact fit to the gun. I figured that would reduce tension a little to make it just right. But he never responded. Thanks for the suggestions. Now I can fix it.
