Just replaced guide rod and springs on my cm9. The old one had lost the end cap. Also replaced the slide stop spring. That spring was a bugger to see and get in the hole, but got it installed with wife shining light on it.

My question is-how many rounds, if any, to break in again. Don't worry, it will soon be broken in as weather permits. :)

Kahrs "break in" is more of a suggestion than absolute need. Mine ran it's first 105 rounds in one setting without a single hiccup, brand new with just a cleaning and lube before hand. In my opinion, no further testing needed in order to carry it with confidence...although I will continue to keep shooting it to test it further.

All guns need a break-in period for the parts to marry. Kahr is the only manufacturer to tell you that up front. I wouldn't carry a gun with which I was fully confident. Some guns run great right out of the box and some require a little tweaking. A very few can't pass the smell test. That's how it is with any mass produced item. When you are fully confident in the performance of your Kahr pistol consider it broken in.

The pistol is fully broken in with 750-800 rounds thru it, just wondering how much effect the new guide rod assembly would have on it.

Based on the number of rounds you've shot already, I would not expect a new recoil spring assembly to nullify your break-in.

Shot 50 rounds of Rem/Umc fmj and 19 rounds ( 3 mags + 1 ) of Critical Defense after replacing guide rod assembly and slide stop spring. All went well. The cm9 is now cleaned and back in my pocket.

I also shot my Colt Gold Medal National Match. I was ringing a 8 inch steel plate at 35-40 yards each shot. Found a magazine in my range bag loaded with hollow points and tried the hp's in it for the first time. It ate all 7 of them. I've only fired fmj in it previously.
