Santa test fired these brand new

PURPLE framed CW9 and CW380

you know - just to be sure :)

I figured a clean and lube as usual for brand new guns
then a quick trip to the range to run 50 or so rounds through each
to ensure they run right, then a thorough clean, lube and put back in the box

Now I know they both run perfectly as expected -

Why anyone would want a gun that looks like a toy is beyond me. I'm living in a world that I don't fully understand.

To me, they are world record ugly.

Now beauty is to the eye of the beholder boys. You need to kick the lid off the box and get out a little more.

Expand your horizons and not just your belt sizes ya know.

All this from the wood and steel or it ain't a gun guy.

Some people have a helluva time convincing the wife/daughter/whatever woman to carry or even use a gun enough to be familiar with it for those times she may need it while you're not home. I think having something "cute" and clearly intended just for her would help get these women to agree to use it. Of course, these type of women will need a LOT of instruction and guidance from whoever is giving them the gun...
And I agree with you on looking like a toy. I wouldn't be surprised if a kid found this in a drawer and didn't think it was real...could be asking for trouble.

Muggs, the world has moved on, and left us older folks scratching our heads at some of the things we see. Who'd ever thought we'd see things like people of the same sex putting on public displays of affection, and things that would have got you an arse whupping back in the day. Mayberry is a thing of the past, although you can still find some small communities with small town values, but for the most part it has been replaced by "Sin City". Whatever happened to our flying cars, and vacations on the moon that Popular Science was sure we'd have by now. Instead we got X-Boxes and Iphones.

I think the color schemes are a marketing tooll to appeal to women My daughter was totally in love with a lime green snubbie, but I talked her into a better gun at a better price, and told her she could find some green grips for it if she looked.

Recently my kid sister showed an interest in getting a gun. I showed her a few in pink and she said that she wanted a gun that looked like a gun. The apple don't fall far from the tree. She's shooting a CW9.

thanks for the responses - if there wasn't a market for other colors the mfgs wouldn't be making them
purple, robin eggshell blue, burnt bronze, pink - even od green and flat dark earth
my wife and daughter (adult) both like to shoot
and they like to know they have they're very own ...... not just the black one or the shiny one
I highly doubt a bad guy would notice the frame color if she had to use it to defend herself
We can save the color debate for another thread in the mean time Santa will earn a few extra cookies
with 2 lovely ladies knowing they can defend themselves

Heck I love the stainless on a Kahr, but there are those here that can't stand that either. To each his own.:amflag:

Sounds like a smart move Santa made. He did the same thing on the one he brought my dad last year.

Also i'd get the wife a hello kitty pistol if she'd carry it every day. Santa did good.

Two things:
I AM telling the Elves!
And Pray to God that these guns only shoot paper. Therefore, if your wife, girlfriend, daughter or fruity son will more likely practice/Shoot it because it's hot pink , lime green or any other color. Why does anyone have an issue with it?

Nothing wrong with brightly colored guns..... as long as they reliably put the lead where you intend it to go. Bad guy be dead, regardless if he assumed room temperature from a pink, raspberry, purple, or black gun.

Rock on, Busted Knuckle. Don't pay any mind to some of us ol' curmudgeons.

So a quick follow up - my wife and daughter loved their new purple Kahrs and today we had a chance to run another 50+ rounds through each one. They even let my son and I shoot a couple mags through too.

That's what counts, right? I wouldn't personally own a purple gun, but put me in the camp of diversity being a good thing.

A year ago, I couldn't understand why my girlfriend and daughter wanted to keep paper-based calendar folios when they're also carrying iPhones. I mean, hook them things up to Google's paid service and keep all your devices in sync and perpetually current - that's what most of us of working age have to do at work anyway. What I didn't understand is that they put stickers, colors and other personalizations in their calendars to deepen their relationship with their schedules, and to have something they can refer to in retirement when they're ready to write their memoirs. It's genius really, and completely alien to me - my calendar is digital and disposable after about a year. Anyway, my point is that colored guns, grips, and what-not aren't any different really. Hell, who doesn't "index" their guns in some way with holsters, custom parts or gunsmithing? Same thing.

Congrats on making sure Santa did yet another fine job.
