I must admit when SIG got the BATFE to approve of their pistol arm brace I thought big deal. I got one for my AK pistol and I am now a firm believer. I now have and AK SBR that is legal per the BATFE and it is fun. No wasted money on the tax stamp, no records requirements. Gotta get an AR pistol and SBR it with the BATFE approved pistol brace. Man life is good.

Congrats on the set up. Have fun BUT I thought you were not a fan of SBRs in general---was I mistaken? Since I live in Kali and therefore retarded, help me understand the desire for a SBR. Concealment aside, lets talk practicality....or is it just a fun shooter and that's that? In need of edification.

To me, the SBR is just handy as hell. Yes, not as powerful as the full size rifle. But its handy, and accurate!

On various AR forums, you get lots of know it alls saying that under 12 inches for a 5.56mm AR is a waste. To me, then why do it at all for just the four inches? My little 10 inch and 7.5 inch AR "pistols" are plenty accurate, and sure the 7.5 gives up FPS but so what? They occupy a niche between the carbine and pistol.

Can't say about the AK platform.... but the 5.56/AR guns are real fun shooters, loud mo'fos too. The right flash device helps - found the Noveske flaming pig to be best, its not just a cone, but a cone with a space between its smallest portion and the exit. Very little flash even from the 7.5 inch one.

My way of lookin at it - if you think you might like one, try one. If you end up getting one, or making one, it really doesn't matter what everyone else says.

Depending upon the caliber and configuration I can be a fan or a detractor. With an AR pistol you need to be selective about ammo. Many ammo choices that work in a carbine or rifle are flat out silly in the pistol variant. Pistol caliber SBR's are IMHO only for the truly stupid and non-recoverably ignorant folks.

I like my AR pistol in 300 Blackout, packs a wallop in small package. The Sig brace makes it!

Looking good Jeepster09! Is that a 7.5" barrel?

I never wanted an AR or AK pistol before, although I own the rifle versions of both, but since the Sig brace, I want both. I'll probably be buying a 7.5 or 10.5" AR pistol here shortly.
