Now I know a lot of you guys have Ruger 10/22 laying around I was just wondering what year they where, by the chart mine is 1971 or 1972 so what is the year of yours? Here is the link of the years. They are just fun little guns to shoot and part of the kids learning from your firearms and old kids like shooting them too. I see more plastic in the newer ones than the older versions but still fun :p

Mine appears to be a 1979 model...However, it is my second one, my first was a 1976 bicentennial model...

Damn, now I'll have to get them out and check...
I recall buying one for my grandson, when mag limits was all the rage of the grabbers.
Gun store guy asks me how old is my grandson?
A: He has not been born yet
Q: Oh, When is his due date?
A: He hasn't even been conceived yet
Q: Oh, ok
and my son was not even married then...
Thanks for the link, I know enough to only take one out at a time, or my wife will through a fit :yo:.
My best score on a 10/22 was from Walmart, Z wood, manlicher stock :cheer2:
Wait, I forgot, those guns were lost in that tragic boating accident back in 2004,
My first, still have it, was purchased in 1978.

I got mine somewhere in the mid '90s, I think. Walnut and stainless.

I guess mine is 20 years old. Still accurate and reliable.

I bought one the year they came out. Standard carbine. Sold it about ten years later after glass bedding the stock. Took a lot of squirrels with it. Replaced it with a Savage/Anschutz Model 54 Sporter.

I gave my first Ruger to my son. It was purchased about 20 years ago, then given to him about 5 years ago. I missed it, so a short while ago I went looking for a replacement and found this nice Mannlicher model. It was born in 1996. The scope was included.

Mine is '86. It's been through hell and back and looks it, but still shoots great. It was my c00n hunting rifle and was used and abused 4 to 5 nights a week for about 15 years. It spends most of it's time in the safe these days.

My regular blued carbine is 1992, my fairly rare stainless K10/22-22 is 2005.

When my 1st son was born in 1968 I bought him a new 10/22. Bought the other two sons new 10/22 carbines in 1978 & 1977:

I sold mine during a nasty divorce (1986).
Seems like it was ~1972 vintage?

very nice!! -- a 10/22 is on my "to get" list somewhere along the line, and I think that an earlier model would be better than a recent build.... although, I was looking at a 50th anniv. model that looked pretty nice. Hope to add one to the family soon.

Mine is a 1988. Still so accurate it's almost boring to shoot.

1985 here. I haven't tinkered with it in years. It has a Leupold 2x7 of about the same vintage. I could see maybe playing with this new trigger. Sometimes a little upgrade can get it out of the safe more often, now that I can get ammo again. http://www.ruger.com/news/2014-12-15.html

My Deluxe 10/22 was manufactured in 1978 but only the action is original. Revamped it last year with an upgraded laminate stock, bull barrel (fluted), and mag ejector lever. Was a good shooter before the upgrade. Now an excellent shooter.
