when you load a round in the chamber, is there tension on the striker ? or will it set and release when you pull trigger. thanks for any answers . forgot , on a kahr.

You will note that when the slides returns to battery the striker is retracted. One of our noobs had a problem visualizing that design concept. The striker is pre-loaded about 75%. It is prevented from traveling forward by the striker block until the trigger is fully depressed, so there's no need to worry about an accidental discharge if the gun is dropped.

Just like all striker fired pistols hold the striker under tension but can't fire unless the trigger is pulled completely and the cam /sear can only then release the striker .
