I'd been in the market for a good carry 40 cal pistol for a while and had actually settled on getting the Glock 27. So I went to my local gun shop and looked at one, and then I noticed he had a Kahr CW40 (used) in the case and wanted to check it out too. As soon as he handed it to me I noticed how much better the Kahr felt in the hand opposed to the G27. He had it priced at $350, but said he'd do $325 .. He pulled out another used Kahr CW40 and told me I could pick either one for $325 .. After comparing the two for a while, I picked the one that looked the least used (which I am convinced was barely shot, if even shot at all). When I asked him, "So $325, huh?" - he came back with, "Well, it's Christmas, so I'll do it for $300 and throw in a pistol bag too." .. Either he was really trying to get rid of the Kahr or he was in a really good mood today! Either way, I walked out paying $350 for the Kahr and a box of Hornady Critical Defense after taxes.

I couldn't wait to try it out, so I went to the range after work today and shot only 107 rounds through it (100 Winchester FMJ, and 7 rounds of the Hornady). Every shot was flawless, and it performed beautifully! Not to mention, that pistol is mighty accurate for a small, snappy 40 cal! Even though I've only put a little over 100 rounds through it, I was so amazed by it that I'm already confident putting it in my carry rotation. Also, I've already started to price the K40 because of this gun as well.

I'm very impressed with this $300 gun! It shoots better, and feels more quality, than firearms I've spent double on! This is my 4th Kahr ... Started with a PM45 (which I traded because it was just too much to handle being a tiny pocket rocket), then a CW380 (which I still have and love), then a CM9 (which I sold because I had a high amount of failures with, and I just didn't feel confident with it, even after the break in period). I feel like I've finally found the right Kahr! It's like the Goldilocks gun for me :)

Good deal. I'm one of those few who really prefer shooting .40. Enjoy it!

It's def not a bad thing shooting a 40 cal, but I also wouldn't call it a breeze either haha. I love it as a carry caliber. The way I see it, this firearm's philosophy of use is designed for carry, not range time. While its def important to train with your weapon of choice, this won't be the gun (or caliber) I use for a fun day at the range. I plan on putting 50-100 rounds through it every few months to keep my training with it up, but will pick up my higher capacity 9mm's for target practice and the more intensive shooting.

^^^Wait 'till you get your K40. That may change your mind about shooting .40 at the range. I train and shoot IDPA with a K40 (bug) and a CZ P07 .40 cal. Thanks.
