Bought a used K9 a couple of years ago. Has the night sights on it and they seem to be close to dead. Is it possible to have them relamped or should I just replace? Best way to go about this process. Love this gun!

Trigicon will relamp sights for a nominal fee. I think they need your slide.

Trijicon relamped my K9's 12+ year-old night sights... Trijicons only. I sent them the slide by USPS Priority and they returned the slide with new or re-lamped sights in about two weeks for $58. That was about 3 years ago, so prices may be higher... but a great deal considering the installation is included. The sights had new dates on them... like new.

They are replaceable. Cops do this often.

mine has been dead on my pMJ9 for a cuple of years. I really have no desire to do anything either. It was a flash in the pan back when I did it, as I thought Ijust had tohave them. I stillhve the white big dot and thatis plenty enough..

If you are a do it yourself type, you can order the tritium vials off ebay. Measure carefully and order the right size. The Tritium vials are held in with a hot melt adhesive. There is a small push hole in the back. Just heat, push, reapply adhesive replace lamp. You could do it for under $15. Contrary to public over reaction, tritium is radioactive (slightly) but not enough to penetrate the skin. The glass vial more than contains the radiation.
