Hey guys. I just recently picked up my first Kahr, a lightly used CW9. I noticed that I was getting some strange trigger pulls. The trigger seemed lighter when firing (dry) one handed. I narrowed it down to the (what looks to be) removable plate on the right side of the frame. The more pressure I apply to that, the harder the trigger pull.

I can even add pressure, pull the trigger to the approximate position that it fires one handed, remove pressure from the panel and the striker will release, without adding additional pressure to the trigger.

I'm putting a firm grip on the pistol but I'm no hulk.

Is this normal in Kahr pistols?

Thank you for your help!

Update: If I grip as tightly as I can the gun will not fire

No Dr. Banner, that's not normal. Others will chime in to tell you what's wrong.

The grip with the strong hand should be from front to back. The grip with your off hand should be side to side. If you apply side to side pressure with your strong hand you will force the removable panel into the trigger bar causing the problem. This is assuming that you are right handed.
