I have one of those CW .45's that has the short slide issue so I guess I'd better send it back to get corrected, I bought it last year but have been procrastinating sending it back. From what I've read they replace the frame right? So my question is, a new frame requires it to be sent back to me through an FFL dealer first so that means I'll have to pay their transfer fee I'm guessing?
Just looking to hear other people's experiences on this issue.

I had the same issue. I contacted Kahr, they e-mailed me a pre-paid Fed-Ex label to send in the gun. They returned the gun less than a week later, after replacing the frame. Since the frame was new, with a new serial number, it is, for all practical purpose, a new gun. For that reason, they will only send it back to a FFL. In my case, I had to pay another transfer fee to the FFL, same as if I were purchasing a new gun. Kahr did include a letter with the gun, saying that they retained the old frame & serial number, which effectively absolves me of any responsibility of ownership of the original gun. I will keep this letter in my files.

If you bought it from a shop they might cut you some slack on the transfer fee. It does have to go to an FFL as mentioned above.

Thanks for the good info guys. I'll email Ian at Kahr for a shipping label and send it back.
