Question about cleaning with Eezox

Since Eezox (http://www.warrencustomoutdoor.com/pl-gun-4ozc.html) is a solvent, would it be okay to squirt it down the hole into the striker channel of my CW380 as recommended in the second step in this post (http://www.kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?1521-Proper-prep-of-a-new-kahr)? All the research I've done suggests a light application, followed by any excess being wiped off. Because it's also a lubricant/protectant, I'm concerned about any pooling becoming sticky. That would obviously not be good in the striker channel.

If Eezox in the striker channel is NOT a good idea, what do you recommend squirting down that hole to clean it out?

Used non-chlorinated brake cleaner. It comes in an aerosol spray with a wand that fits the clean out hole perfectly. Be careful not to get it on the cleaner on the sights as it will remove the white paint. One can will last for years.

Proper use of Eezox dictates that a thin layer is wiped on the object and allowed to dry, then any excess wiped off. Eezox is a DRY lube. Squirting an amount into the striker channel may cause it to turn into a yellow waxy goo. I wouldn't do it. Instead; dismantle the striker, treat with Eezox, then reassemble dry. Give it about 24 hours.

Some folks use the brake cleaner. I don't because it also strips off my dry lube. My personal preference is to have metal on metal parts lubed in some way. I use a combination of Eezox and Militec-1. Check out the posts on how to take-down the upper of your Kahr.

Eezox is also a very good rust inhibitor.

I was going to ask about G96, but then I discovered that a number of people have suggested using Maxfilm by Royal Purple (http://www.royalpurpleconsumer.com/products/maxfilm-multipurpose-synthetic-lubricant/). Because it dries leaving only a synthetic film, I wonder if it would be okay to use in the striker channel following Brakleen? I get what you're saying about dismantling the striker to properly treat it with Eezox, but I'd rather not disassemble it (striker) every time I clean my gun. I've read where others have used maxfilm in this way, but I didn't know if it worked any differently than Eezox.

Why not just leave the striker dry? Isn't that what Kahr recommends? Must confess, tho, I've not thoroughly read the manual. I've put a 1000 round thru my P45 and 2-300 thru the Cw380 and never removed the striker. Once in a great while....I don't keep track...I'll give them a squirt of brake cleaner, blow dry with hair dryer and let it go at that. I use a light grease on the rest of the gun were lube is needed and this stuff
stays where its put so I doubt any of it migrates into the striker.

Someone mentioned G96. I've used this product for many years, especially on my M1 Carbines and other guns as a cleaner and protective coating. It evaporates and leaves
the metal feeling dry. Not sure how it would work on the striker. Smells good too!
