I had to have hand surgery some months back. Carried my wifes soft shooting m&p9 core when doc said I could try shooting again and really liked the m&p's feel in the hand. Now some 4 or 5 months down the road I can still only shoot my tp40 but control problems do to strength loss is now an issue after only a few mags fired and if I push it , soreness will set it. Tried to decide if the T40 with the wider grips and increased weight would serve my needs but since I have never even seen one I had some concerns . So I bought a 4.25" m&p in 40 . I wanted to stay with a 40 as I have have close to , well a lot of 40sw ammo new hp and reloads . Turns out the m&p40 is one soft shooting pistol hardly any more recoil than the 9mm even with the hot underwood ammo. I'll keep my kahrs , cm9 and tp40 but looks like after some apex trigger parts and 400 rounds of ammo I'll be CC'n the m&p . Still love my kahrs just can't shoot them like I use to.

Hard,
Whatever works for you.
Perhaps your hand strength will return eventually. Good Luck
Merry Christmas.

I'm sure that this is something that you are already doing, but an exercise ball really helps to strengthen your hand. Of course you could also use Jocko's method of regaining your grip strength and that might be even more fun. :)

The M&P is a great platform and Apex parts improves it even more.

I've been wanting an M&P for a long time. I don't think Santa's bringing me one.

M&P's are my BIL's first choice too. Best of luck to you and use what works best. Merry Christmas!

You don't have to jump ship just cause your a derelict. Look at me. Wait that didn't come out right.
But do stay close to the plank.
I was gonna ask what Jocko's method is but maybe I don't wanna know.

Oh ,I'll stick around. I would miss the twisted sense of humor that can only be found over here.
bawanna I feel like a derelict sometimes and surely look like one. Jocko won't tell the truth anyhow ! He'd just led you on.
The surgery was for a condition called "Trigger Finger" even thou one does not cause the other . The tendons are cut thru at the top of the palm on two fingers so the ligaments will work freely but it does have some lasting after affects . Been using a rubber ball for hand squeeze 's but not real improvements after the first month.
And life goes on. Marry Christmas guys and gals .

My wife has trigger finger, wears a deal on her finger doing some stuff, suppose to help.
I don't have that yet, but pretty much got everything else.

Well if I was a bit smarter and tried to get some medical help early on those fingers out early on they might be in better shape now but Nooooooo. Got do most thangs the hard way and just keep pushing till some goes beyond the point limited return.
You must know the term, a, not directed at you , If your gona be dumb you gota be tough ! It has to be my motto . Not the first time I have been under the knife .
