Had some Cabela's gift cards in my pocket, so I went there today. They had a new Beretta 92FS in INOX, which has been on my want list for some time, so I bought it.;)
Pick it up Saturday...pics and range report to follow...
Merry Christmas...:amflag:

Nice! Would that be for carry or for the range?
Think if I were to get another pistol it'd be a 1911 in 9mm.

Definable a range gun...I've got two 1911s already...Hoping to pick up a 1911 in .38 Super soon, though...

I love my 92FS inox and bet you will too. The triggers are amazing, and recoil is smooth and controllable. Mine is as accurate as the Colt Combat Elite 1911 I loved until I bought the 92.

I'll echo ScottM. I have a 92fs vertec inox that is one of the softest shooting pistols I own. "Slick as glass" action and as accurate as can be. On top of being a great gun it is also beautiful. You'll love it.

You made a real good choice IMHO...............I've had 3 of them............I like the 96 better.............................you can't beat em for the way they feel, work, disassemble. The first time I racked the slide on one, I was sold.

Here ya go...still dirty from the range. All stock for the moment, but I have new grips, an Elite II hammer, new hammer spring, Wilson Combat trigger, steel guide rod and a few INOX parts to replace most of the black plastic parts on order...

How did you like it? The only things I've done to mine is 2# heavier recoil spring........stainless guide rod..............grips and screws.............inox mag release, and I like mine on the right..............and painted my sights Testors white.

Excellent! Take pics after your modifications - I'd love to see how she turns out. BTW has anyone put hardwood grips on their 92? I like the grippiness of synthetic rubber (mine got Pachmeyers soon after I bought it), but Hogue's reddish Cocobolos are damned pretty against inox.

Love it. Shot it very well. As well as my 1911s, although the 1911s have better triggers. The double action trigger is hard to reach, that's why I have the Wilson trigger coming, as it moves the trigger a little rearward.

I've seen several with wood grips, both on GB and on the Beretta forum...they look very good. The ones I have coming are G10 grips in dark cherry color.

I haven't made a set of Beretta grips in a long time but most of the officers here were wearing my grips when we toted 96's.
They are a challenge to make for sure. Now that we got a few Beretta guys around here maybe if I find the time and desire I'll whittle out a set and offer em up.

Me too. I've had several different wood grips on my 92, they all made it way too fat. Got Hogue rubber grips on now and they are just right, but they are dull and boring.
The only gun I ever regretted selling was my Italian made 92 Inox Ghost Variant.
Sold it to a vet who really wanted it and gave me a great price. But still wish I had it.

My "D" hammer spring arrived today. Made the trigger much better. Also got my INOX slide stop, which I got used off eBay since I couldn't locate a new one, but it doesn't match very well. Looks like someone tried to polish it, so now it looks like a SS part. I'll take it to work next week and bead blast it, to give it a more satin finish.
Still waiting on other parts from MidwayUSA and Brownells...Normally I get stuff from them in 2 days, but it's been a week for both.

There is a website...........Brignoli Silvio, for those hard to find parts. I am 99% sure that the slide catch is the same for 92/96fs.....Compact L 92........Centurian 92/96. It is referred to as a slide catch. The Compact M series is different. The part number is the same for all above. I have never ordered anything from Brignoli, so I don't know how they are.

I've ordered mags from Brignoli. The order shipped pretty fast but took about three weeks total to arrive. Had to pay a conversion to Euros of a few percent. I'd use them again if I had to.

My new grips also arrived late in the day, yesterday. I do like them.

Very, very nice color combination. There's just something about dark red and stainless.

Personally, I think that the 92/96 series is one of the most beautiful firearms made.............................................. .........................

eBay...
It's stainless and someone tried to polish it, so in person it doesn't match very well. I am going to take it to work next week and glass bead blast it, which should get it very close.
I have a magazine release and disassemble lever in INOX due tomorrow. Also an INOX trigger pin I will install when I put in the Wilson short reach trigger.
Still looking for the rest of the parts in INOX...
Bob
