I don't know about it being "fun", try living in the panhandle for five years!

Other than that, not too bad of a state!

I see you're enjoying the Central Texas Hill Country. Given time, you'll enjoy seeing all 5 of the States of Texas. Home is always where you decide to hang your hat.

Been here 55 years - spent as little time in the Panhandle as possible. My granddaughter can't wait to graduate from Texas Tech & get out of Lubbock - and she's only close to it.

yep, I know you're a citizen :)

I've been here for 61 years, 4 months and 29 days (so far, so good ... and hopefully will see year 62 to the end) - still a few nooks and crannies of Texas I haven't had a chance to leave my mark on, but not many. My sister and her husband recently retired, left Dallas and built a house(?) on a cliff overlooking Lake Marble Falls. With 10 acres of expensive, highly restricted real estate, I'm not sure how long they will like the "rules". Citified folks seem to thrive on those settings though, and she lived in the Dallas area long enough (and married a city boy) to forget what small town, country style living is about.

I think I'm rambling, incoherent and getting off topic. I might better shut up for a couple more weeks until after the rusty plumbing gets patched .... maybe be able to think better. Doubt it will matter
