I was just thinking about 2015 and what if any new guns were needed/wanted around the homestead. I've got my carry guns locked down carrying a Glock 19/23 and the Kahr CM9. I have several revolvers of differing sizes. What I don't have that I've always wanted is a singles action revolver. I've been researching the Ruger Blackhawk's and Vaquero's. I've been looking at some other brands like Cimmeron and Uberti. I would most likely get a .357 as I already have plenty of .357/.38 special ammo.

Anyone else have new gun plans for the New Year?

A long heavy barrel .308 for really long shots if desired. Thinking about a lr-308 or a remington 700. Just cant decide... and have to pay for a kitchen remodel first. :(

A 9mm threaded barrel for my Sig 239 [40 caliber] and some 9mm mags. I beleave that is all that is needed to shoot nines in my 40.

I've got 3 on the short list - Ruger Gunsite Scout rifle, Sig P220, DW 10mm 1911. I hope to be able to afford at least one this year.

A few I'm considering is a decent "sniper" rifle, good for out to 300 yards or so in 30-06, .308 or 6.5 Swede, something in a caliber I already own. A lever action in .357 or .44 mag. A .223 of some sort, AR or Mini-14. Possibly a higher capacity .45 ACP for home defense. And stocking up on Ammo, and reloading supplies.

Walmart had WWB in .38 special, with a 125 gr. HP for $24 and change, not much more than their .38 FMJ RN at $21 a box. I also bought one of those 250 round UMC packs in .45 ACP FMJ, to finish breaking in the CM45. I haven't had a chance to shoot any yet. But the price was pretty reasonable. I figure it should perform about like the WWB that I normally use for break in. Some commenters over at CTD say it's a little "dirtier" than some other brands, but the gun gets a good cleaning after a range trip anyway, so that should not be a bother.

I'm also kicking around a striker fired .45 like an M&P or Ruger SR45. I know it's blasphemy for me to look at plastic, but I've found that modern ergonomics have come a long way, and some of these are really good shooters. Notice I didn't use the G word...

I'm still kinda looking for a Ruger Redhawk in .45colt. So I can shoot some 300+ grain hand cannon loads. Otherwise I wouldn't mind picking up a CZ RAMI with an Omega trigger (but they'd have to make one first). I might sell off a couple of long guns. But I doubt it. And I might just bite the bullet and get a good OU shotgun then sell off all the 12 gauges. But I'd have to shoot it well. We'll see how the Benelli works out first. It could be a good year...new gun wise.

Aww heck with it. I think I'll just get a Sub2000 in .40 cal and call it a day. That would make a good truck companion to the K40 on my hip.

This thread's got me droolin'.

Dammit Ruger, now you have two new guns I want. I suppose you'll introduce the SR45c at Shot Show too, and make it a hat trick.

Something like a Ruger SR-762 in .308 Winchester. Rings gongs out to 800+ yards!

Not that I have a lot but I certainly don't need another firearm. Recently though I was spending a lot of time lusting after a 1911 in 9mm. Got to thinking how much I dislike active/thumb safeties and the lust for a 9mm 1911 faded away. Saw some pics and viewed some vids on the Kahr T9 and thought... kinda like a commander size 9mm without a thumb safety and a trigger like my PM9. So I guess I'm no kinda lusting after a Kahr T9.

BTW, have a Ruger Super Blackhawk which I love to shoot but hate to clean.

I don't really need to buy any more guns this year, but it's only January 3rd and things could change! 2014 seems to have been the year that I added guns to the safe, as I picked up 3 last year. I need to get some range time with the AR that I built to dial the scope in, and I need to zero the scope I just put on my 300WSM.

Oh, and more range time for my CW40 and the other handguns. Maybe a progressive reloading press is in my future.

I don't feel you must have a "need" to buy another gun. I feel that if you "want to" then you just go out and do it. Assuming that your wife said it's OK though . . .

I'll stay with the one I wanted last year (and several years before) a Coonan .357, 1911. Had the cash this year, but wound up with a very nice new driveway instead...

Oh well, Cheers to the new year!

I've been thinking of getting a couple suppressed. Haven't gone there on anything yet. So just beginning to toy with the idea of a customized Ruger 10-22 and a S&W M&P Compact .22 both with suppressors. Also think there might be an opening in my line up for a compact 9mm that is bigger than my PM9 but smaller than my Glock 23, so toying with the idea of an M&P 9c as I like the ergonomics of my larger M&P Pro CORE in .40.

And of course if a lotto win plopped in my wife's lap (I don't play any more) I will quickly look at a custom lightweight hunting rifle.

Dream and wish on!
