Hi everyone,

First post here - appreciate any help you could give.

I just purchased a P380, and I already have a PM9. The PM9 trigger pull weight is consistent almost immediately the moment I start pulling the trigger.

The P380, on the other hand, has significantly longer trigger slack before I feel the pull weight. The bottom of the trigger travels 5-6 mm before I feel some resistance. Is this standard? I intend to carry with a round chambered in a pocket holster, so I wanted as much resistance against trigger pull as i could get from the factory to lower the chance of an AD.

Kahr customer service is closed until Mon, so I was hoping to get any info here. I emailed Kahr.

Thank you.

Your trigger is behaving normally.

Welcome to the forum!

Your .380 trigger pull as you describe it sounds normal and it is what I have with my PM9. Could it be your PM9 trigger is out of the norm?

I have 3 Kahr triggers and no 2 are alike. But they all have a little bit of take-up and they all work. I think you should be OK. Would you mind explaining your forum name? Is it like CZ pistols?

Thanks everyone. Just wanted to make sure it was working the way it should. CZ doesn't stand for the gun company - it's just related to the first email I ever had and easy for me to remember.

Anyone have a P380 with little to no trigger pre-travel?

Ah I forgot to ask - my PM9 trigger breaks super smooth. Doesn't move the gun at all when it breaks. That's what I really love about the Kahr trigger. But when the P380 trigger breaks, it gives the gun a tiny jerk, like my Shield. Anyone have similar issues w their P380?

Appreciate it.

My PM9 trigger smoothed out in, I don't really remember how many, rounds. It took several hundred at least, but it is great. It was a bit gritty at first.

Thanks, Alfonse. My P380 trigger's a little gritty too. Good to know it should smooth out. Guess this is standard. My PM9 trigger was perfect from the factory. I just wanted to know my P380 was working the way it should and wasn't out of spec.

A drop of oil on the trigger return spring may smooth that trigger up for you.

Will try that tonight. Thank you, Muggsy!

My cw380 is the same way, light travel at first then smooth heavier pull. My cw9 is smooth consistent all the way though.

After a lot of use, you won't even remember how it felt when it was new. Parts "break in" and smooth out with use. If they don't, that's the time to discuss this with Kahr.

That's the confirmation I was looking for. Thanks Rahmann62!
