I am new to Kahr pistols...I have been looking at them for a while..I have always been primarily a HK and Sig guy....but the Kahr line has had my attention for a while...I like the thinness and even the single stack design...so I jumped in, in a big way...I bought 3
K9 all black
MK9 Elite
P380 all black
may add a PM9 later...so far really like them
now to my question...What is an E9?
also how does the black finish hold up on the Kahr line
Thanks

E9 is a K9 with carbon steel (I think just the slide?), pinned front sight and stamped markings; made in 1996-98 AFAIK.

^^^ sounds about right. It was billed as a less expensive alternative to a K9. I'm not sure about the Kahr black finishes tho. I've always preferred stainless. Welcome!

Or this
SERGEANT MAJOR (SGM)
SGMs experience and abilities are equal to that of the CSM, but the sphere of influence regarding leadership is generally limited to those directly under his charge. Assists Officers at the battalion level (300 to 1,000 Soldiers).

Just trawling Googel, there are some with stainless frames and some that look like they might not be stainless.
What was "economic" about the E9? Where did they cut costs?

SIG, I think you are right. Somewhere in my wayback machine, I recall discussion of an all carbon steel E9 but the ones I have seen pop up in the last few years have had stainless receivers. Anyone else know the history?
I found this interesting..., https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKNop-uNZco&noredirect=1 Forestry green... but SS frame; also says it came with plastic grips.

I've been looking for a set of E9 grips, nylon or plastic whatever they are, to buy or trade or whatever. If you know of a set I would definitely appreciate knowing about it.
