Have you guys seen this Gun Care Products Evaluation (http://thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=546316)? I know everybody has their favorites (gun cleaning products), but this particular evaluation is, by far, the most comprehensive I've ever seen. Personally, I was a bit disappointed the Eezox didn't fare any better than it did. Based on some other evaluations I had seen, it supposedly was one of the better protectants. Oh well. . .

I wish he would have included FIREClean. Other than that, I was impressed with the time and effort he put into everything. Based on his findings, I'm going to give Hornady's One Shot Gun Cleaner & Lube (http://www.hornady.com/store/One-Shot-Gun-Cleaner/) a try. Did any of the results surprise anybody else?

Neat link but I admit I didn't make it far. Smiley likes the smell of Ballistol. It covers up the dog's farts. I didn't see that listed in the analysis. Just sayin'. :D

This report looks familiar. I believe it was posted here sometime in the past, but it probably deserves a repeat.

I thought this post (http://thefiringline.com/forums/showpost.php?p=5858054&postcount=65) was especially interesting as well. DIY Guy says:

Here is a video showing how the evaluation was conducted and how excess lube actually worsens or confounds our attempts to make metal slide easier against one another. The video will show that only in the absolute minimalist state do the gun lubes actually reduce the friction/drag forces.

All the products were run through the friction device and the chart below shows how each product performed in comparison to one another as well as dry steel (no lube at all)

Based on the above video, if the "absolute minimalist state" of lube does the best job of reducing friction, is there a need for grease on your slide in addition to a really good dry lubricant?
