I got a new CM9 from Sportsman's Warehouse about a week ago. I have 400 fired rounds so far in 3 or 4 sessions. Has been perfect, except for hangup while loading a new mag operating the slide instead of the slide lock. This happened in the first 50 rounds, and I have operated the slide to load new mags since with no problems. I know this is not the recommended procedure, but it is what I normally do. I have owned a P9 for over 10 years and carried it more than any other handgun. Originally I bought the CM9 as a back-up for my P9 or Glock 33 (and others when I get out of control), but It shoots well enough I don't consider it just a backup like I did my LCP. Both the P9 and the CM9 triggers are so similar I don't think I could tell them apart by feel. They both come in a little under 6 LBs on my trigger scale. I really like both of my Kahrs, and have yet to have a Kahr malfunction! I did see my p9 malfunction when a friend was limp wristing it, in fact, he could not get through a mag without problems. He is a big guy, and it is funny my 10 year old boy has had zero problems with either of my Kahrs in several mags in both. By the way, accuracy on both guns is outstanding, and neither required any sight changes. Offhand shooting, the CM9 is just as accurate as the P9, but is a little harder to achieve it's innate accuracy. I am totally elated that I finally was smart enough to buy a CM9. Now I need a buyer for a nice Sig P938 that I think is a great little gun, just not to the extent of the CM9.
I am looking forward to learning more about My Kahrs by being on this forum. I can tell by looking around over the years that there is a whole bunch to learn here from some really knowledgeable people.

Welcome! Your buddy sounds like my brother-in-law. I nicknamed him Mr. Teacup Limpwrister because he has such a lousy grip. He cannot get through a mag in any of my Kahrs either. Then I pick it up and it runs flawlessly. Glad you like your Kahrs and I'm jealous that you came to them 10 years ago. I was still shooting revolvers then (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Glad you like your CM9. I have a good collection I've put together over the last 60 years, but my CM9 is my baby. Go nowhere without it. Welcome and congrats.

There's nothing wrong with with the way you're chambering a round in your Kahr. The slingshot method works just fine once the gun is broken in. The CM9 is my favorite.

I like revolvers still, got a S&W MDL 19 2.5 inch 357, and a S&W MDL 625 2.5 inch 45 ACP(or about that). Carried a S&W MDL 28 in the early seventies as a LEO. For carry now, it is mostly Kahr or my Glock 33 (mostly with the Lone Wolf 9mm conversion). I also can't resist carrying a Colt or CZ once in a while when I can carry OWB (although I just got a new IWB holster for them). I have a feeling the CM9 will be with me more than any other handgun. I am carrying it in a Remora OWB/IWB/pocket holster. Right now I have it OWB, but I can change in 30 seconds to IWB or pocket carry. The Remora is not the best holster in any of the three modes, but it is so versatile.
I really like this CM9. My P9 was just a little big for the pocket. The CM9 is easy to carry there. Not as easy as my LCP was, but I could not shoot the LCP well and it was a 380. I think if it had been a Kahr 380, I may never have got the CM9. I justified the CM9 because the LCP was just so inferior to the CM9, and I figured the CM9 would not be that much different to carry. I was right. It is not much different to carry, and it shoots really, really close to what my G33 or Kahr P9 does. I new the CM9 would pocket carry great when need be because my P9 was so close to being able to do it. The grip was just a little long for most of my pants.
The indoor range I go to does not let my 10 year old shoot anything but 22 cal rifles until he is 12. I am a NRA Handgun Instructor and I am very proud of how Joey has came along. We have worked more on safe handling than form. That is coming this year. Here he is with the 2 Kahrs and the G33.
