Hey, does anyone know anything about Hornady's new critical defense lite .38 and 9mm. I can sort of understand the idea at least with the .38 , what are the odds the 9mm will cycle properly ? Well I hope it does I bought my wife 2 boxes of 9mm to try through her (Purple) CW9 and fns. 27% reduction in recoil........

Hey guys and gals - we finally got chance to hit the range. We ran the the Hornady LITE 9mm through a shield, FNS and the wife especially liked the pink tipped ammo through her purple framed CW9. Each round functioned perfectly through each gun. And yes we each noticed the recoil was less. I think it might be a good option for those really sensitive to recoil. That aside she prefers her CW380 over any of the 9s and absolutely loves the para elite pro - go figure.

I can say with authority that the chances of any ammo working perfectly in any gun is 50/50. Either it will, or it won't. My mother always used to say that the proof of the pudding was in the eating. I don't have any idea what that has to do with your gun functioning properly, but it sounds good. Try it, you may like it.

I wouldn't buy any do the fact they fund breast cancer research. What a joke. If the Big Drug companies come even close to a cancer cure, the project is shut down, and swept under a rug. They are not about to kill this cash cow. The only "cure" they will come up with, is some drug that will have to be taken the rest of the victims life. And cost some ridiculous amount. If the FDA would get out of the way, and let Dr.s use the things they've already found, cancer would be cured. One method is as simple as taking a syringe full of baking soda and water and injecting it into the tumor. The change in PH causes the tumor to die, and does nothing to the healthy tissue surrounding it. But since it couldn't be patented, the Dr. was hounded by the FDA, and had to move to Europe, where the FDA can't touch him. Don't believe me? Then why was a foreign Dr. brought in to treat Reagan's colon cancer with alternative medicines? He never went through any surgery, radiation, or chemo, that's just for us commoners. And he was CURED, no relapses, the cancer was gone. The info about his colon cancer treatment is easily found on the internet. Even the parts about the CIA bringing the "medicines" into the country. The FDA is nothing more than a puppet for the Big Drug Companies, and Large Food Conglomerates. One should take a look at all the stuff the FDA allows in our food that is banned in Europe. They do crap like ignore independent scientists warnings about food additives, and instead go with the additive makers own reports showing that it is safe. Yep, they are looking out for our best interests, about as much as that idiot that runs North Korea is.

I reload some real powder puff loads for my CW9, Ruger LC9s, and have shot them thru
a Kimber Solo with no issues with cycling. The recoil is noticeably lighter and fun to shoot, especially for anyone who is recoil sensitive.
I started loading what the books call a "minimum" load of 3.7gr powder and worked it down with 3.5, 3.3, then 3.0. All cycled well, but the 3.0gr recoil was so easy, I quit at that point after testing them in several pistols. Maximum load was listed as 3.9gr if inquiring minds want to know.

I've always liked that carefree joyous attitude of yours, Tman. :)

That's good to know that the ammo worked in your Kahrs. I think I'm a bit more surprised to learn that it did cycle then I would have been had it not cycled. Only reason is because I read so much about the tight tolerances of our Kahrs.

I tested the 38 Lite. I was underwhelmed by the results.
