I own two Kahrs. A P9 since 2002, I think, and a CM9 I picked about two weeks ago. About 500 round fired in the new CM9, all I can say is WHOW!!!. Not a single problem. My P9 has been perfect, and I have carried it more than anything else for over 10 years. I don't count rounds, but I have shot it quite a bit. It has never, ever once malfunctioned. I bought the CM9 because I was sick of carrying a backup that I could not shoot well. I fully intended for it to be a back up for my P9 or G33. It is so capable, that I find I am carrying it as primary and backup. I can switch it to pocket carry if need be. I carry it in a Remora IWB, OWB, pocker combination holster.
I guess I got carried away. My question is, why do there seem to be a lot of people that claim to have problems with Kahrs. I am sure there are some problems, but really, am I that lucky?
Probably not. If you were really lucky you would have won the lottery at least once by now. Welcome. Personally ,after breaking in my CM9, CW45 (with the right ammo), and CW380, they are all perfect. My CM9 is my every day pocket carry.

Haters gonna hate.
When people have problems they love to squeal to everyone about it but hardly mention the good things that happen. With us I think a lot of it is that this is a Kahr forum so we hear a lot more about the negatives than the positives. Kahr is one of the top selling pistol companies in America so there are thousands and thousands of pistols we never hear about that most likely run perfect.

There will always be a percentage of owners who experience problems. The tough part is to take a step back and look at the big picture: both for owners with issues and for those of us who read about them.

The only thing I don't like is that the mags don't seat flush. It would be nice to have a black polymer flush mount mag that does not stick out. Other than that, 450 trouble free accurate rounds.

I think a lot of people just have a hard time shooting small pistols. The mag gap doesn't bother me, in fact I'll eventually order som metal bases to replace the plastic ones on my CT9 mags.

Eight Kahrs over ten or so years and no problems yet. If you're lucky, I must be golden. I attribute a lot of the gripes to operator error and probably a great many new and inexperienced owners.

O'Dell, have you been to the new Georgia Gun Range on Braselton Hwy? Pretty nice. Bought my new cm9 there. (Don't mean to highjack this thread.)

No, but I knew that it was there. I usually go to BullsEye. It not much of a range but it's free. If the weather ever clears up, I'll lower the top on the new Mercedes and cruise up there.

I've had eight Kahrs, so I would not call myself a "hater". Five models work just fine. Three did not. Each of the three were cycled through a reasonable time, usage and attempts to correct problems. I know the P45 had at least 800 rounds through it before I decided it wasn't reliable, (feed and ejection problems). Another had a high percentage of light strikes... again over a lot of rounds and brands. I own and shoot a lot of different guns. In my experience, based on these three poor performers and the five solid performers, versus other brands, Kahr does not produce a rock solid pistol. I wish they did.
One has to wonder why one pistol, a P9, works from day one, feeds, fires and ejects, but another of the same design, a CW9, does not. Both shot by the same shooter, using the same ammo at the same range, maintained in the same manner. What is the difference? Why is there a difference? It is enough it give me cause for concern and prevent me from putting the brand in the top tier level of reliability reputation.
What I hate, if you want to call it that is that, for that some reason there are evidently serious problems with some of Kahr's products. Some are great and some are not. I like and enjoy my Kahrs. They fill an important niche in the world of carry guns... but a carry gun should be tested, trusted and found without fault. I can't say that about the brand as a whole.

My CW9 digests all factory ammo without a problem. The only problems I have had are with some of my reloads. Some lead it likes and some it doesn't. I enjoy shooting my Kahr and it loves 124 Gr. Gold Dots. Very accurate.

I think, that certain ammo and shooter error/technique has a bunch to do with the problems we hear about....................that being said, I agree with Rip..........................not totally sold............................I own an MK from 2000-2001. It was almost flawless for the first 300 rds., but after that, a few hiccups, which I am hoping, were ammo related.
