Hey guys, these are really sweet. The upgrades include night sights, accessory rail, shorter trigger pull and an optics mount. These are all loaded with polygonal barrels along with an ambidextrous mag release. Check it out from shot show.

Am I the only one on this forum that thinks accessory rails are a complete waste on a sub-compact, conceal carry firearm? Yea, I get the concept of a rail for certain applications, but damn, I'm sick and tired of seeing them on everyday carry firearms.

Those look like TFO sights! That would be awesome if they offer those for the CM9 and CW380.

I'm curious about the new trigger. I thought all of us Kahr owners loved the trigger the way it is. I hope they didn't mess it up. Rails are an option for some, but probably more of a marketing thing to steer people to a kahr instead of a Shield. I do like the new sight options. It peeves me off that we won't even see these in shops for 6 months. If I were a manufacturer I would use SHOT to show the products (which gets us excited) and have them available asap.

Rails add bulk, and weight. Not necessary nor wanted on any handgun for me....don't care for frame mounted lights/lasers/bayonets/etc. I won't buy any sidearm that forces me into accepting a rail.

Ditto for me. I do have a rail on my nightstand gun but don't like em much on carry guns and certainly not on anything not full size.

Not interested. Other weapons already in the market will do the job better than Kahr can aspire to. This pistol is an also ran IMHO.

Uhhhhhhhh, I bought my small Kahrs because of the nice long trigger pull, no trigger on a trigger, no rails, no extra weight, etc. for concealed carry. I like my Kahrs because they are different. I know there are lots of varied features that entice people to buy guns so I guess these changes are expected to provide a larger target audience. No pun intended, or maybe it was.

For me the G2 version, in .40 would make a good critter gitter. I would have no desire to use it to replace my carry pistols.
The G2 would not be any harder to carry than a full size 1911, which I used to carry.

The video makes it sound, at least the way I heard it, that all the "premium" Kahrs, in all barrel lengths, will have the new sights, the new trigger, the screw holes for the holo sight, etc. I guess if you don't want a rail, split trigger, etc. you are a C series type of Kahr customer in the future.

I don't know … both the video here and on the other thread about Gen 2, looked like the initial guns they showed did not have the adapter plate for the red dot sight on top the slide. So maybe Gen 2 will be available both ways. Either that or the plate is VERY unobtrusive.

I think Kahr is just trying out some things to expand it's market. Some people want rails, some like a Glock trigger with shorter reset, some might want a red dot optic. Some might want a 6 inch ported barrel. I think those things would do better on a double stack mag design, but they did what they did.
Why not put some out and see if they sell. Those that like what they have will keep buying their gen 1 pistols.

There did not seem to be a plate, just two threaded holes in the slide to accept the mount.

Looks like gingerbread dressing and very little interest...

Looks like Kahr's focus is changing. These are clearly geared towards the competition market not defensive carry. Maybe like automobiles the hope is that having a race gun will enhance the image of the whole brand. Or more likely it's just what the ceo has become passionate about.

I'd like to see a semi-double stack 9mm/.40 in the same height and length as the P9. Maybe it's just me.
The gen 2 looks great but they really do not bring anything I need.
