Hi, My CW9 Primer strikes are offset from center, and was wanting to know if anyone else has this. It has not been a problem with my handloads. But since i have been carrying for the last 1.5 yrs. i have used factory Gold Dots. When tested, about one box they worked fine. One day after carrying those rds. for 2 months, i decided to fire the CW. What i got was Bang Bang Click not good. This has happend a few times with USA made defensive rds. Recently a bought some S&B 124 FMJs and almost all of them would not fire.

Needless to say im concerned. Was thinking of sending it in ,but just read here that CS may be a problem.

I liked to know if KAHR may be having finance problems. Hate to send it in the they go under and never see my pistol again, as i have had this happen from another company.

Doing some checking i notice that when i put the barrel lug pin in it pulls the barrel down a bit causing the offset. Anyone ever try adjusting the barrel lug.

Thanks
GMan

Hi Armson-OEG, the offset primer strikes are normal for a Kahr and not a problem...You might be having light strikes as others have also had...Try and clean out the striker channel by removing the slide and using some spray cleaner and put the nozzle in the clean out hole and blast away...You should see the cleaner coming out of both ends of the striker channel...Let dry and do not oil or lube the striker channel area as it likes to be clean and dry...If that doesnt fix it just ship it back to Kahr on their dime and they will repair it for you...Kahr is not in danger of bankruptcy at all and is doing a banner business and just recently purchased another gun company so don't worry about sending it back for service....You asked about the barrel lug, don't mess with that thing....It is normal for Kahr's to have a gap at the top of the barrel when looking at the muzzle end when the gun is assembled...Hope this helps you out and let us know.....

Thanks for the reply. I have taken the striker out to remove all the flakes. Appears to be coated or something like Galvanized stuff on it (the Striker),polished it up shortly after bought it. It fires my reloads everytime, but i cant trust factory ammo in it.

My concern was with the company, thanks for easing my mind. Do i need to call them first or just send it in,or if i call will they send FedEx to pick it up?

Ohh regarding the gap on the hood to slide. I understand that, my point was that when installing the take down/barrel lug/slide stop pin you can see the barrel being pulled down, i was pointing that out as i believe thats the cause of the offset.

You need to call them 508-795-3919 and explain what is wrong and ask for a prepaid FedEx bill as it has to go overnight which is expensive....Write down a detailed explaination of the problem you are having and put it in the shipping box which should be plain brown wrapper with nothing that would indicate it contains a firearm.....I'm not sure about the barrel lug thing, I never noticed it but will look at mine the next time I take it down for cleaning....There are lots of knowledgeable folks here that can answer most any question you have so perhaps someone else can answer that one...Good luck....

would help this forum out alot. what might be offset to you could also be normal. A photo emailed to kahr would also be nice for them to see. Kahrs business couldnot be better by the way, . Call kahr and ask for EOIN describe what it going on. We can only speculate and with no photos to show us, we are really guessing to...

My brother just bought a CW9 and experienced light and then no primer strike.

I detail stripped it and found that the tip of the striker had broken off. He had around 125 rounds through the gun.

He emailed Kahr yesterday to see if they'll send a new striker. Disturbing to have this happen with a brand new pistol.

I've had great results with both my CW45 and K9 which were both bought used.

Well my brother heard from Kahr today. He called and they're sending a new striker overnight. A supervisor called him back later and wanted to make sure that he was satisified with the customer service. He told him that if the new striker didn't solve the problem, to call for a return on Kahr's dime.

Thanks, Well its not the striker, it hits fairly hard but could hit harder i suppose. Its intack as well. Ive had it out and cleaned out the flakes that coat the striker and polished out the striker and channel, shortly after i bought it......

Ive loaded over 50,000 rds and look at fired primers all the time. this is the worst ive ever seen, Never really mattered with my loads but when using SD factory ammo Win. PDX1 thats when i had my first click.... Now its S&B ammo. I have not sent it in yet as i just got a 709 and have been preping it for the range

I read that offset primer strikes can be " normal" for some Kahr pistols. My P9 primer strikes are dead center so I don't understand the deviation here.

Can you tell us if the offset is in the horizontal or vertical direction? Mark a few cartridges with a sharpie marker to make an index mark then fire them. This should show which direction the striker misses dead center.

Photos will help.

From my experience Kahr customer service is good. I maintain that you should not need them in the first place.

Good luck.

Khar sent me a new striker for my cw9. My brother installed it and I have fired 150 rounds out of it and had no issues with it. I have sprayed cleaner through the cleaner hole after each usr.
