This is a video from SHOT 2015 showing all the features, as well as a trigger demo of the new Gen 2 models. They're very nice, check them out:

Oh geez, they went and "Glocked" the trigger, adding a safety bar in the middle. At least it looks like it's contoured with the rest of the trigger, and not a straight piece poking out of the middle. I suppose if they are going to make the trigger pull shorter, it makes sense. I wish they would have added a multiple strike capability, in case you had a hard primer, you could try it again without racking the slide far enough to reset the trigger. It would also make dry fire practice less of a hassle.

Thanks for the link. Looks interesting as far as the trigger. The rest doesn't do much for me. I wonder if there will be a way to put the same trigger on a non Gen 2 Kahr. I would be interested in trying that trigger since I also shoot Glocks. Also, looks like the gen 2 was shown only in the polymer models. Wonder if they will be available in the steel models.

Groo here
Tman in the earlier days, a dud or hard primer was common and many double action autos had double hit actions.
Today , if a factory round does not go off, an extra hit usually won't either.
The correct response is to put in a new round / revolvers do this by indexing the cylinder .

Wonder who the show and tell lady is. Name to a face as it were. Just curious.
Thanks for posting this. Although the original trigger is really good, I anticipate good impressions of the new one at the range.

Initial reaction - yuck! What makes Kahr interesting to me is the long double action like trigger pull, like a fine tuned revolver. I have Glocks. I like Glocks for the range, or competition. But for serious shooting, I learned (trained) with Smith J frame and a Seecamp. I like the Kahr triggers as they are. I have NO interest in the Kahr form factor with a Glock like trigger. But that is me. I hope the Gen 2 do not replace the real Kahr design, but are an option. Remember that Mercedes used to make a fine automobile with a distinctive look that were a pleasure to drive. Now they are mostly an expensive German Buick. I hope for the sake of the company that this is not Kahr's version of New Coke. But just looking at them? yuck!

I'm sure they will continue to offer the old trigger, but this certainly opens their product up to a whole new audience previously turned off by the previous design.

I certainly expect that they will continue the original trigger. The new one is a deal breaker for me. I might be able to live with the sights but not the trigger. I've had eight Kahrs in the last ten years or so, and I sincerely hope I haven't bought my last one.
BTW, Chaplain, I'm quite happy with my 2013 Mercedes SLK. It doesn't drive like any Buick I've been in.

The trigger dingus is the main reason that I hate Glocks. Say it ain't so Justin, say it ain't so.

All this does is open up the market for them. They hear the cries for a single stack Glock and see Glock not delivering. This is a smart move on their part. I'm willing to bet the old trigger isn't going anywhere.

Mea Culpa (but maybe not Maxima Culpa) The last Mercedes I had was a '93 190 2.6. It was a great car. Pretty much a standard sedan that had incredible well balanced handling, great brakes, and rear drive. Went great in snow, had fog lights, was in every way a driver's car. Loved the I-6 engine - naturally balanced with no counter shaft AND, it looked like a classic 'benz. (I could drive it to church or in a funeral procession and not get weird looks.) It had no cup holders (Ve Haf vays of making you keep you hands on ze veel). Form still followed function. Kinda like a Kahr - the form follows the function. But I have to admit I never drove a SLK. And I've obviously not shot a Kahr gen2. But I have shot Glock in competition (many moons ago).
I do believe that the gen2 Kahr is likely a good thing - If and only if I can still get the classic Kahr. I am convinced that a long smooth trigger pull is the optimum for defensive pistolcraft. There are better actions for getting the tightest group on the range, or shooting competitively. Who else makes a single stack thin form factor pistol with a long smooth pull until it goes bang action in just about any caliber you want?

I wonder if they "Glocked" the follower / feed ramp so it won't be necessary to send the gun back right after you buy it?

Many, many, many Glock 19 Gen 4's went back to Glock with feeding problems when they first came out. My CM9 fed flawlessly from the start and still does.

True, but the CM9 didn't just come out. As far as your CM9...it's doing what it's supposed to do. Apparently Kahr accidently let a good one slip by. :)

Don't like the trigger safeties, at all. That was, in fact, a big selling point for me for the Kahr.
I had a Springfield XD45 for a short period of time that had the trigger safety. Thing bit my finger bloody.
Doesn't work for me - glad I have the Kahrs as they are.

Am I the only one not really looking forward to the new Kahrs? I've never owned a p series Kahr before. I'd love to one day but haven't really found that great of a deal and don't want to drop that kind of money when I can get pretty much the same thing in the c series. Like many, I kinda wish they would have improved on what they already had and not attempted to change what Kahr's were intended for. Defiantly not a tricked out race gun or a special ops combat gun with a weapon mounted light.

That's like saying you wish ford never made anything but the model t. You may never street race, but the Mustang is still cool. You may not haul lumber or tow a boat, but their trucks are still cool. Know what I'm saying?

Yeah, I get what you're saying. I also think a Kahr "Race gun" is kinda cool. But I don't want a P380 or PM9 with a glock like trigger, weapon mounted light rail and screws located on top of the slide so I can mount an optic. I don't know, maybe that's just me though.
Also comparing a model T to a Mustang isn't really a good analogy for comparing the Gen 2's to the current models. The model T to the best of my knowledge was the first motor vehicle ever produced. The Mustang was produced quite a few years later to be a sporty muscle car. The direction Kahr seems to be going in is like taking (Idk) a Toyota Camry that lasts a long time, has good gas millage and is reliable. Then the next year making the Camry into a turbo charged Supra. Yeah it's fast and fun to drive around but it isn't what the usually and loyal consumers of the Camry want. People that buy a Kahr want a safe, reliable and easy to carry pistol. If the Camry driver gets a wild hair and wants to race, he'll buy the performance modified supra for the weekend. Not as an everyday driver. If the Kahr owner gets a wild hair and wants to compete in a 250 yrd (lol) pistol tournament, he'll buy a "Race" gun with big optics.
My gripe isn't about the "Race" gun, it's about the smaller models such as the p380 and pm9. Granted, I will admit I have not seen or read about those listed models having rails, and optic screws so maybe I'm wrong. I do know they have the whole "Glock" trigger safety but ive only observed the p9 in one of your videos that you posted on facebook. Everyone has an opinion, that's just mine.

My guess is the pm and 380 guns will not have a rail, and definitely not a mounting point for optics (that would be silly).

Is there a shorter reset with the New Gen 2 triggers? I didn't pick that up in the video.
Don't know about the reset, but press release says 20% less trigger travel. I guess that prompts a need for the Glock like trigger safety?
Like a couple other posts on here, I'm just wondering it that 20% less travel can be applied on current generation guns, and WITHOUT the trigger safety?

Waiting on my refund to fund a new gfs. The Kahr is on my list as long as I can get the standard trigger. I do not like trigger safeties. All I need is a long smooth revolver like trigger.

When do the Gen 2's hit the market, and will all lines get the Gen 2 treatment?
It seems like the only thing that would be able to unseat my PM9 from my right front pocket will be a PM9 with a shorter trigger reset.

The Gen 2 will not be for the pm models. Only p series and larger to start. They are also adding a 5" and 6" compensated model. The release should be august or september. That's all the insider info I got for you for now :)
