Just finished watching the third of the series. Just wondering if anyone else watched this show on the History Channel?
IMHO, this should be mandatory viewing for all students in high school and college. Assuming the series is 75% factual and 25% Hollywood, every child in this country should watch it. I'll have to say I learned a few things that I didn't know, or rather was taught.
To go even further, every Democrat should be forced to watch. These were true Patriots fighting for not what was written on a piece of paper but what they believed were God given rights to every person.
Really inspired me to what our forfathers truly fought for and what we must still fight for under our current circumstances.

At the risk of being politically incorrect, I find it hard to watch alleged historical shows made these days. I realize women and minorities had a part in history, but somehow they are ALWAYS given prominent roles in these shows. I guess all those hundreds of thousands of white males who died defending this country really aren't dead. There really does seem to be an organized effort to marginalize the contributions of white males to this country. I can't wait for January 2017.

I watched it, was a bit disappointed, and I really don't know why.
It was like kissing your sister, it felt good, but it shouldn't have.

If you learned something new its's probably revisionist history. I don't watch much of anything put out by Hollywood. It would pay you to fact check everything they put out. Hollywood is full of left wing propagandists.

I'm with you AJ. Should be required watching for youth of today.
I liked it for the reason it showed why we declared our independence from England. Drama aside it showed how the elites thought they were better than the colonists and thought they could demand what they wanted and control them. Tell me that's not being tried today. May be time to declare our independance again.

I imagine it should probably be titled the Politically Correct Sons of Liberty.

I watched most of it. As far as I am concerned, the reasons they took the action they did are being repeated today on an even larger scale. We don't really have much freedom anymore, and if we don't do something about it, there will be none.

Watched it. Liked it. Maybe a few thousand kids can at least learn something about history even though it would be ancient history to them. The other night on Watters' World (Bill O'Reilly) he asked a 20 something year old when the Revolutionary War was fought. Answer: 1917?????

Under Common Core guidelines that answer would have given the kid a B+ for knowing that 1917 was a year. :) Pathetic, ain't it.

My wife was born and raised in England and Scotland. Came over to the states as a teenager. I asked her as we were watching if she was ever taught anything in school about those damn colonist rebels. She said she doesn't recall anything be taught about it and was more than surprised while watching the show.
Seems she didn't have a clue about how brutal the English could be during their "empire" days. I told her this didn't just happen in the US but every corner of the world that the English colonized. Seems the school system over there tends to gloss over a bit of their history.

It's not only the Brits that gloss over history. In the U.S. our history is being "re-written" to fit the ideals of liberals since they control most of our education system. They are teaching that the U.S. is mostly a bad country and ignoring many of the great things done for the world by the U.S. Makes me sick. And don't bring up the damn French which stick up their noses at us after we saved their ass twice (WWI & WWII).

You mean the same French who didn't believe Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld's now-discredited pretense to the Iraq War, and way before then bailed our asses out of the revolutionary war with naval blockades against the British, and who held the Germans for years while conservative U.S. isolationists dragged their heels about getting involved with Europe?
