View Full Version : Kahr naming scheme?
Does anyone know what the different name prefixes used by Kahr mean? Like 'P', 'PM', 'CW', 'CM', 'K', 'T' etc? I ask because I thought the "equivalent" to my pocket CW380 in the 9mm lineup would be the CW9, but actually it turns out for pocket carry what I'd really want is the CM9 (I think?). So what do they all mean, if anything? Just curious...

It is a little confusing. I'm not sure about meanings.
P9/CW9/K9
PM9/CM9/MK9
P380/CW380
T9/TP9/CT9.
There is no cm380 but there is a CT380.

Look up any pistol on Kahr.com and the legend is on the bottom of the page. It pretty much makes sense except for the .380's. I'm not sure what they were thinking there... :D

How about "P" is for Plastic. PM would be micro sized, plastic. Or, maybe P is for Premium. That could mean "C" is for cheaper?
I'm not coming up with anything for K or T, but I'm sure folks on this board can come up with something.

close, Alphonse...P is polymer, M is micro. Kahr's website actually lists the definitions with the pistols.

C is for concealed! I still don't know what K and T stand for.

T means target. Says so on the box.
I always thought K was for Kahr as in the first Kahr pistol, and had no particular meaning.

I thought the c stood for conventional rifling
