Hi all,

I'm new to the forums and just picked up my first Kahr right after shot show. I've owned firearms from every other manufacturer but was really impressed with the size of the CM9 and was pleasantly surprised with the trigger pull when I got to dry-fire it at the show. It also helped that Kahr was nice enough to give me some very high quality hats to take home while visiting their booth!

My only complaint is the slide action was extremely gritty out of the box almost so much that you couldn't even rack it back fully. I did a complete disassemble of the slide and cleaned it real well and now it feels a little better.

Anyway, thought I'd share some pics. I had the slide cerakoted, did a little stippling on the grip, and have also ordered some night sights from Kahr which will be here next week. Glad to be a part of the community here.

Welcome, the slide action smooths out nicely after a couple of hundred rounds. It has a stiff recoil spring that will stay stiff that helps make the recoil when firing very manageable. Not bad at all. You'll enjoy your new pistol.

Love the Cerakote. Looks good. I'd like to do mine but am reluctant to try it. Did you leave the sights in? How about underneath the slide...how did you handle that? Trying to work up the courage! :)

Looks great. I do like the all black instead of the standard two tone look.

You're going to make a lot of people jealous because the gun looks great. And, because you were able to post pics immediately upon joining KT. You must have connections.

Welcome aboard.

I left the front sight in due to the way it's staked in however if I could do it all over again I would just remove both sights and replace them with night sights right after cerakoting. If you want to leave your stock sights in you can use liquid electrical tape to cover them and remove after the paint job.

When prepping for the cerakote I completely disassembled the slide, removed all parts, degreased, etc. You can cerakote all sides of the slide (including underneath) just make sure you don't overspray otherwise some of the tight fitting parts like the back plate may not go back on as easily. I had to use some lube on the back plate to get it to fit back on.

Good luck!

Looks great. I recently got mine blacked out and with night sights also. I've not had the chance to go to the range in some time and have only put about 500 rounds through mine in 2014 but love it and carry it daily.

I had some doubts at first but quickly had my mind changed after breaking it in. I'm sure you'll like yours as well.

Welcome to the forum!

Yes, your pistol looks nice but it is curious that with some manufactures you pay extra for bi-tone and that with others you pay extra for all black, go figure.

The more you shoot it the smoother it will get. Nice job on the mods.

Looks great root!!! I've found that if you install that Hogue slip on grip upside down its more comfortable.

How's it shoot?

It was very tight at first after the cerakote application so I was a little worried it might not cycle properly, but so far I've shot over 300 rds since the cerakote was done and have had 0 failures. I've shot ball target anmo, winchester ranger T JHP, and Speer gold dot JHP.

The only thing I'm not too happy about is the night sights seem to be off the mark a little or maybe the dimensions were different from the original sights so I'm having to relearn the POA.

Are you wishing you would have coated the mags now as well?
