Hello, yesterday I purchased my second Kahr but my first 380. I took it home, cleaned it and racked the slide several hundred times. I also bought 1 box of, Blazer, Independence, Magtech and Fiocchi ammo. I also purchased a box of Sig V-Crown carry ammo as well. Prior to going to the range, I was reading several posts in reference to Fiocchi ammo and how the Kahr doesn’t seem to like it. So I opened the box of Fiocchi ammo, loaded 5 rounds into the magazine and hit the slide release. Immediately it failed to feed that round and the round after that and the round after that. I tried the same test with all of the other above ammo and not one problem. So, this morning a called up my LGS and told them the problem I was having. They said they were unaware of any problem with Fiocchi ammo and that he even carries a Kahr (CM9) and it doesn’t have that problem. He kindly said I could bring the box back and exchange it for another. I wasn’t expecting that but I sure was glad. So I went and exchanged the box for a box of American Eagle, before heading to the range.
The range went surprisingly good after some of the posts and reviews I've read, had me worried. At least each box of FMJ had at least one or two failures to have the slide lock back after the last shot and the magazine was empty but I kind of expected it since it was during the break in period. After 200 rounds, I was very happy with the performance of the little Kahr. It was very easy to shoot and the recoil wasn’t bad for such a tiny pistol. I will say that the pistol isn’t for long distance and I was quite embarrassed when I attempted to shoot from the 25 yard line. I think maybe 2 out of 6 made it inside the silhouette. The pistol really shines from 7 to 15 yards though. After I was done with the FMJ, I decided to run two magazines of the Sig V-Crowns through it. The V-Crowns work very well and to me they were very accurate.
All in all I’m very happy with my purchase and happy to own another Kahr, after I sold my CW45.

Congrats! That reads like an outstanding range report to me.
That looks like some excellent shooting to me.

Thank you. I'm sure there's others that could do better but I think I did pretty good for a first range trip.

Lol, Sorry man. I think the 7 yard and 12 yard shots are pertty decent. As shooters we always want to do better. If it was my way it would only have one bullet hole where each shot went into. Notice I didnt post the 25 yard target. It wasn't too pretty.

You are far more likely to have an unpleasant social encounter at 7 yards or closer than at 25 yards. I wouldn't worry about it. :)

You're right about that. It's still nice to know you could if you ever had too. Of course I'm not going to be responding to armed robberies or active shooters with only a CW380 holstered to my duty belt.

Note to self. Do what your told if your within 25 yards of Sheepdog and that 380. Outside that range bob and weave a lot, might get lucky or not.

Lmao!!! Unless I have fiocchi ammo in the CW380. I won't be able to feed a single round.

After being shamed by Sheepdog, I went out yesterday morning with the
EAA I had bought the day before and got serious with it. Put 4 15rd Mags thru and this was the best one at 10 yds. Have since adjusted the rear sight so it might get a little better. Big ole gun, DA/SA, but well made in Turkey. I bought it on impulse as I wanted something else for range work. Way too big to carry.

Thats pretty good bro. I'm still not posting my 25 yard target though lol. I use to have a Sig 290, that thing wound ping the center of a target from 25 yards. I sold it because I needed the money and it was way too heavy for its size. I'm happier with the Kahr and I'm going to make it my mission to be more effective with it from 25 yards.

So today I went to the range again and put another 150 rounds of Blazer Brass 95gr fmj through the CW380. I had no malfunctions at all.... but about 60% of the time the slide failed to lock back after the last round. This was kinda disappointing and seems to be a normal thing for these guns according to all the posts Ive read on here. I don't think its due to my grip on the pistol becaus I grip it the same each time. Idk what to do??? Other then that I'm now confident enough to start carrying it. I know it will at least fire If a round is in the chamber.
So tonight me and my fiancé went out for dinner. I was hesitant at first but decided on leaving the glock at home for once and carried the Kahr in a cheap Blackhawk IWB hoster. Wow it was amazing! No weight, no worry of printing and very comfortable. I promised myself I would still carry the glock and that it would be my primary EDC as long as clothing and weather permitted. Though I'd much rather have 15+1 of 9mm then 6 of 380 if an "Unpleasant encounter" ever occurred. I'm still kinda torn on what to carry but I love carrying the Kahr a lot better.
