It's a friggin' winter wonderland here in NE Ohio...just in case you were wondering. I almost traded my snowblower for a 1911 but thought better of it. Momma didn't raise no dummies.

Here in OK it varies between the high 70's and subzero. Today it will hit 75 or better. Tomorrow we might get up to the low 30's with freezing rain and the 60's return by midweek.

Not too bad here in Hickory. A little "chilly" but very tolerable. We might get our first taste of some snow Monday night. Hope I can get my jeep out and play in it a little. :)

One day I'll be able to add attachments.😁 I'll show my car (another thread) and my Accuweather screen capture showing the piedmont of NC with nights staying below 25, except 26 Monday night after we get snow. The North wind doth blow!

Can't say the same for my Momma, but the one wasn't me. Haven't used my snowblower much the last couple of years but it ain't going nowhere. Quickly figured out during my first winter here it be an essential piece of power equipment for my driveway set-up. And I so don't need no more 1911s, anyhow.

Denver area's been having some record high temps over the last couple/few weeks....breaking into the 70's several times....and with a lot of sunshine.

I am sick and tired of listing to weather people talk about wind chill. What you have out your door is all that matters . We were a nice bone dry 5* this morn in Burnsville NC in our valley , so dry I could go out and sweep the porches off in a t-shirt when 6* out. 15* at 11:20am . Colder at higher elevations . I can look up at Mt Mitchell from my house and it was -5* this morning. So its cold , dress for it and get on with life .

Its winter after all.

So cold my poor 25 year old garage door opener won't work. Those of you up north: does a belt drive work better than screw drive?

I've always preferred a screw over a belt, but some people are into pain. We are still talking garage door openers here aren't we? :)

The newer belt drives do. At least the higher end ones. Quieter and maintenance free. I sprung for a good Martin drive when I replaced my garage door in 2005 and it's worked perfectly. Garage is a main entry point and the door gets cycled a lot during the winter.

Hasn't been too bad here...

started snowing about 36 hours ago and only have about 12-14 inches of the light fluffy stuff. Temps haven't been bad as today we got into the 20's and tonight we should stay above zero.

Truth be told, we have had a fairly pleasant winter thus far. Get snow about once or twice a week with beautiful sun shiney weather in between to melt off the drive way, until the next snow. Just about the perfect winter thus far!

You're getting off easy, Shadetree. ICE in Mid-TN, sleet and ice pellets all day, about 1 1/2" of it on the drive and deck; 18 at the moment, headed for 10. It's gonna be nasty in the morning...
Then again, first time I've ever been off work on President's Day.

What is it that makes a well digger's arse that way?

The weather map this morning was looking like we were going to be below it and so far that has been the case but it's suppose to be colder tomorrow and all the rain that has fallen today will probably freeze and that will make for interesting travel so I will probably stay at home the next couple of days (being retired has it's perks!)
