Come on Mr. Weatherman, what are you trying to pull. You know as well as I do that winter in Georgia starts on January 1st and spring starts by the end of the month. Here it is the middle of February, THE MIDDLE OF FEBRUARY, and you're predicting an ice storm tomorrow. You know we don't have the equipment to handle that. Do you remember the blizzard of 93? We had to start a snowball fight with South Carolina to get rid of that mess.
And to make things worse, you started the cold temperatures in November. You know I always wear short sleeve shirts on Thanksgiving and sometimes on Christmas. What were you thinking??? Do you think you're living in Buffalo? I'm of a mood to hunt you down and teach you some manners. And don't give me any of that garbage about global warming or climate change, or whatever the PC buzz words are now. I don't buy it. Shape up mister or I'm coming after you, and I know you don't want that.

Move to Tennessee, with Al Gore. He says it's warm there.

In Cleveland it's a balmy -2 degrees with a wind chill of -25. I might have to put a jacket on. :)

So this is what winter is about clean things up and you get another shot of snow. We only had a small on over night, this is my preferred method of snow removal a Zero Turn with 54" snow blower on the front. Does make for a nice package and no more bad back, and you finally get to see me:o

I'm kinda liking the winter we've been having thus far. I mean, who wouldn't love waking up to this?

On my way to work this morning. I wonder if Al Gore is giving any Global Warming speeches this weekend?... (Sorry for the sideways photo; I can't figure out why it posts that way).

I knew the cold weather was heading toward Georgia, so I left a few days early so I could be sure to get over Mt. Eagle between Chattanooga and Nashville on my way to visit all my relatives in Paducah,KY area. Got there just in time for a dang 14" snow fall and minus 4 degree temp. Didn't get to do any visiting, etc. cause stranded in the house, although my wife did get to see her mother. While in KY an ice storm hits Georgia and leaves thousands without power. My daughter and her family moved into my house for 3 days. Planned to stay in KY until Thursday, but then today I headed back to Georgia because more snow & ice is headed for KY. Just got back here in time for freezing rain and more snow coming toward GA tomorrow. Dang I can't win!:hurt:

I was one of those thousands. Comcast went out at 10:00 pm while I was on the computer, and then the power went just before midnight. I spent 4 1/2 hours reading at the kitchen table with an LED lantern until the power came back. Even with the freezing temps, the house only dropped from 71 to 67 degrees so all ended well.

I suppose I was lucky. Landlord had just replaced the wood stove. We were without power for a few days but stayed warm enough. Played some dominoes (Mexican Train) by candle light.

We are currently sitting at 57 degrees, highest we've seen in a few months. Snow is melting like crazy causing a few muddy places here and there. One of my neighbor's drive is a mud hole. We still have a couple of icy spots on ours but should be gone soon...hopefully.

Well, it was in the mid-seventies here today and they're predicating eighty tomorrow. However, my OP was over a month ago when things were not so rosey.

We went to Pittsburgh two weekends ago to visit friends. It was -2 and -5 overnight but daily temps almost got to 30. At least we got some great fish from the Byzantine Catholic Church. At home our daughter kept the wood stove fed and the house stayed above 75. Fast forward to today and it hit 78. Tomorrow it's supposedly going up to 80. Time to split pecan for next winter and take the PM45 down to the farm and shoot 100 rounds. Rain expected Thursday & Friday.

Hahaha....just wait fer summer. Hung out in Tucson for many a year back in the day so btdt. Three things stuck in permanent, with visuals, memory from them days....baked brain and ass doing roof maintenance on gf's home one hot as hell day in July, tg marginally not too late to shut it down before I ran out of runway vapor lock on my 177 Cessna on take-off from Evergreen after a hot run up and my stupid ass failure to switch on the boost pump, and the only heat stroke I've ever experienced...extended bike ride w/o drinking enough water and in the dry 105 degree heat.

Now that we're on heat, the hottest wet heat I've ever been in was 140 degrees plus when the ventilation went out in the fire room. We couldn't shut down as we weren't hooked up to shore power and ended up doing 15 minute rotations until ventilation was back up. Not a fun time.
Dry heat would be in Iraq over the summer with most days topping out over 120. Again, not fun wearing full battle rattle.
