More old school stuff. Anyone else shoot these old pistolas? Got the first one back in 1977, the Super Blackhawk in 7.5" .44 mag. I decided it was too long to carry around as a backup to a rifle while hunting. So, I got the .41 mag with the short barrel. The Super was not made then with a short barrel and I wanted more power than the .357s I had.

And the .41 mag. Carried it alot more. Much lighter cause of the alloy frame and ejector rod housing. Short barel also had less weight too. Power with handdloads is right near .44 mag using the same bullet weight.

And I recently picked up this old model .357 in mint condt. Still has the old action. Never has been back to Ruger for the safety conversion. Don't want it. It's not a "Flat top," but I can live with it. Barrel is 6.5"

Well, it's not a magnum cause I only got 1 cylinder in .22 LR. Everybody should have one, The old Single Six. This is a "Liberty" model made in 1976. Barrel is marked as such. The previous idiot owner lost the .22 mag. cylinder to it. It's a 6.5"

More Rugers later.

That's a nice collection of Blackhawks and a Single Six:)
I'm fond of Rugers myself. Of the single action persuasion, I've some Vaqueros and a Single Six.

The Vaquero's a much prettier but I really like shooting the SBH in .44mag. Here's a .45colt Vaquero and a Bisley .44mag Super Blackhawk.

A Blackhawk .357/9mm is high on my list for this year. The older I get the less interested I am in autos.

I don't have any pictures but I'm real partial to the Rugers too.
I have a 10 1/2" Super, a 7 1/2'' Super, a Stainless 357 6" Blackhawk that my daughter stole, a 45 Colt Birdshead Vaquero 3 1/2" that my son stole, and the required 22/22 mag Blackhawk. The 22 was the first store bought gun I ever bought and it got carried alot more than all the rest back in my hunting days.
After my son stole my Vaquero I ended up getting an Uberti Birdshead. I like it as much or even a tad better. It works like the original Colts, it's a bit lighter and feels great in hand. Ruger quit making the Birdshead about the time I got mine, shop told me I got the last one shipped to Washington and was told I couldn't even get one but then it magically showed up.
Lucky day for me, or at least my son the little thief.

Bought my .357 Blackhawk and rig new in 1968 for a total of $80. The 3 screw BH is unaltered.

The single six convertible should be a birth right I think. Everyone should have one.
That 357 looks like it's holding up well and the single six too. It's obviously a 3 screw also and let me guess.....unmessed with?
I used to have a blued 357, don't recollect what happened to it, got the stainless 357 back from my dad before he passed so his step sons wouldn't get it like everything else. I gave him a 44 Super Blackhawk but his hands got to where he couldn't hang onto it very good so swapped him the stainless 357 for the 44.
Then of course my daughter took it. Lot of theivery round these parts but I'm ok with it in these instances.

None of my handguns ever get altered while I own them. Was tempted decades ago to have the "safety" modifications done on those two single actions, but never did - good thing.
Have a couple more Ruger revolvers - an SP101 .357 and a Service Six .357 (blue - turning to plum color). The Service Six is now owned by one of my sons. Another son got my S&W Model 13 .357.

Always love the Ruger SA's. I've got a New Model BH in .41 mag and Single Six convertible, both blued with wood grips. Carry the BH when out and about hiking around the mountains and the SS when hunting.
Super Single Six, .357 Blackhawk, .44 Super Blackhawk, and a .45 Colt/ACP convertible Vaquero. The first two dating back to circa 1970 new. Rugers are the only S/A revolvers I've ever owned and I love 'em.
In the past.... .44s and .357/9, and 41. Coupla single sixes. .45 Vaquero and pair o Bearcars now,

I'd like to get the new version of the Super Blackhawk like Pancho has. They're $595 (with CC) at Bud's - free shipping. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.......

I had the stainless steel black powder version of the .45 single action Army. Fun to shoot, but a pain to clean. Sold it last year at a gun show.

New Version? That one is from the late 70s. Had another like it and a 10.5 too, but just didn't use them. Sold them long ago. Tried a stainless Vaquero in .44 mag with a 7.5" tube and it shot to one side. Rather than bend the front sight like I do on cheap guns. I sold it.
Had a really nice flatgate single six and a stainless with both cylinders. However, they had to go back when I was put in forced retirement like 10 years ago. The Liberty model was a lucky buy at the frontdoor of a gunshow for a bill and a quarter. I had to have at least one single six.
Here are a couple of more Ruger revos, but they ain't SAs. The muzzle blast on these with handloads is unreal.

A Police Service Six .357 on top and a real flamethower on the bottom. The LCR in .357 mag. I let a buddy that wanted one shoot it a few times with some 158 gr. Fed Magnums. he decided he didn't want one after all.
