I heard the promags will allow you to rack the slide by hand without failure. So I'm wondering if the 8 round mags that say they are for K9 P9 E9 will work for the ct9. Anybody know?

Gene, ProMag has a toll free 800 number. Call and ask them. They should know. 1-800-438-2547.

I don't know if the 8 round ProMag will work in your ct9. The only ProMag I had was a 13 round 9mm mag for the SIG P228. MY ProMag had a soft tube so the recoil against the magazine catch peened the magazine's slot outward until it touched the magazine opening in the frame. I dressed the distorted metal with a file to ensure the magazine would not jam in the frame. Although the magazine was rated at 13 rounds, I could only get 12 rounds into it. Since the ProMag had a lifetime warranty, I returned it and to ProMag's credit, they replaced the magazine. I have not attempted to use the replacement magazine but have bought new, OEM magazines which are functioning fine. I hope you will not experience the same problem should you decide to try a ProMag.

I have 3 kahrs , a cm9 , cw9 and tp40 and all hand rack just fine with kahr mags with zero issues and used a kahr 8 round mag as a back up in the cm9 and cw9 for 7 years now . I have tried a couple pro mags over the years in different handguns or AR and found there quality to be low enough to never waist money on them again unless there is NO other choice on the market . It takes to many rounds fired to trust a handgun with its mags to use promags if free .

I believe the 8 round mag is only long enough for the K sized Kahrs. The extra round comes from an extended base, not a longer tube. Here's a picture of both 7 and 8 round mags of both Promag and Kahr. That's a 8 round promag in the P9.

I bought a Promag magazine for a little project I am working on. The Promag magazine has to be forced into my MK and PM9. The magazine spring is very weak. The tube is almost the size of the .40 caliber Kahr mags. It looks like the magazine tubes are aluminum.

The Promag follower does not fit into the Kahr magazines.

Just my $.02.

I've racked the slide by hand a number of times on my CM9 with zero issues.

I'm not sure where this even comes from, unless some are different than mine. Mine has also ran 100% from the first shot to about the 250th, or whatever exact round count I'm at now. Mine hasn't needed any sort of break in to be reliable, nor must I use the slide release.
