After not having Kahrs for a couple of years and trying the latest and greatest carry pistols, got rid of a few and purchased a CM9 ( which I had before) and a CM45. Went through the recommended pre shoot procedure and took them to the range. The PM9 was just like I remember, the best sub 9 made. not a single failure during the 200 rounds I put through it.

The CM45 was another matter. Accurate, recoil was not bad. The gun felt great in my hand. However, when I tried to rack out a live round, it wedged between the breech and the barrel. I know this is not something typically done, but it should have enough clearance to eject a round. The worst part was almost every round ejected and hit me squarely on top of the head. I normally just ignore this, but it was almost every round hit perfectly in the middle of the top of my head! IT was more consistent hitting me in the same spot better than I hit the target.

Anyway, called Kahr. The rep was great. He said they were aware of the issue and to send it back. I got an email in less than 5 min with the prepaid shipping label. Great service!

I'll let every one know how it does when I get it back.

Do that. Kahr doesn't always give a detailed report of what was done to the gun, but they generally will tell you what parts they replaced, if any.

Welcome back to Kahr and thanks for the report! I did much the same; I went years after my first PM9 was lost (long story) until I returned with a CM9 in 2012, but boy was it worth the wait. Sorry to hear the 45 is acting up, but glad Kahr is making it right as usual.

Sorry for the delayed post. Got it back with a report that says "reworked barrel hood and ejector". Checked for the jamming problem and it ejected live rounds fine. Good job Kahr on that. haven't shot it yet so don't know about the "rounds to the head problem yet , but I'll update as soon as I check it out.

I have the exact issue but the Service Rep said I have to pay shipping......shall I call again and ask for a prepaid shipping label?

I would do exactly that scoots8717. I was told by a Kahr rep that I needed to send my original wood grips for my T9 in before they would send me new grips (this is on an almost brand new T9 that has been to the factory already) so I emailed service@kahr.com and was told they would send out new grips along with a prepaid return label. Give it another shot and see if you can get them to send you a return label.

One of the benefits of being a Kahr Talk member is learn about things that the general public doesn't know about like prepaid mailing labels. Worth far more than the cost of admission.

muggsy re them sending a "pre-paid" shipping label. I recently had my second broken follower and when I called Kahr service, the rep said I needed to send my CM9 back to them for examination and repair; when I had my first broken follower, I called them as suggested they sent me a new follower. During the initial call the service rep said that if I had a second broken follower, they would want to see the pistol. When I consulted the original forum link after my first mag problem, I noted that others had noted that if the pistol needed to be sent to Kahr, they would send a pre-paid shipping label for its return. So during my latest call to Kahr when the second rep said I needed to send it back, I specifically asked him if he was going to email me a shipping label and he informed me that I was responsible for the cost of sending the pistol back to them (the CM9 is still under warranty). I then said that I had read on the forum that Kahr covered the cost of warranty returns and he said nope I was responsible for shipping costs. Next day FedEx, insured cost me $65. Thus the questions are 1.) why did I not receive a pre-paid shipping label and 2.) if I was correct and he was not, who do I contact to get this matter looked into?

When I first called the rep said no pre-paid shipping label....it does state that in their manual.....but then when i used this email address service@kahr.com ...I rec'd a response about 2 hours later and was sent a prepaid shipping label....so, LawDoc2, i don't have an answer for you but use the link and see if Kahr sends you one.
