I recently bought a new CM9 and an extra 6 round magazine. I don't know which magazine is the one that came with the gun and which is the extra but both are Kahr manufactured. One of the magazines has a tight fit in the mag well of the CM9 and won't fall free. After working it in and out of the gun for a while it actually created wear marks on the sides of the magazine. I decided to try something and tapped on the sides of the magazine with a hammer and a piece of wood to try to narrow it up a little and had great success, it now drops out of the gun the same as the other one and doesn't seem to have any problem with running rounds out of it. I won't carry that magazine until I have plenty of rounds fired from it but I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem with the Kahr magazines?

Yes.

Known issue with an easy fix.

One of of my mags needed the feed lips squeezed and one needed the side wacked like yours.

Easy fix.

My CM9 and both mags are 100% functional. I must be lucky because every single gun I own besides my Star Model 30 work as expected. The Star is just one of over 25 guns I've owned.

I do still have that gun.

You're not alone, Ron. Others have reported similar issues, which were resolved by methods equivalent to what you describe. Well done.

BTW, welcome aboard.

Sometimes, just loosening your grip screws will solve the problem.

I don't think the OP's gun has grip screws.

That's how much I pay attention to plastic guns:p

But you've got a good point for the K series.

I sent my CM9 to Kahr in December to have the Cocking Cam Spring replaced. As a side note, I mentioned my magazines would not drop free. They took a dremmel to a section in the upper magwell and the tip of the mag release and now all mags drop free without modification of the mags themselves.
