I have a P45 and when I compare it to my CW9 and CW380 the only difference is the P models have a fancier engraving of the Kahr name and caliber on the slide and a polygonal barrel instead of the usual lands/groves type barrel. They share the same frame and slide internals. The CW models are a terrific value in my opinion.

I have a CW380, CW45, and CM9. I have been satisfied with all of them. Fully agree^^^.

I got a p380 before cw380s were available. Recently picked up a cw380 as a spare because the sale price was ridiculous. Love them both. No difference that means anything to me. The cw380 is such a high-quality gun, it seems almost miraculous at the price point.

Good choice and smart man. Go buy a holster or two with the money you save. I have a CW380 and love it.

I bought a CM9 and wanted a black slide but wasn't paying the premium for a PM9.

I ended up getting the CM9 slide Cerakoted black for $75.

hi bobby, do you have to remove the sights before sending out for coating?

I removed my front sight as I was installing a new night sight anyway. The rear sight they removed before coating and re-installed after the coating process was completed.

KY Gun is shipping my CW380 today. It has been a long waiting. I already bought two mags, 6 snap caps, and 300 rounds ammo of mixed brands.

My next question is - Is the LaserGuard laser sight really useful? I saw someone selling it for $150.

In my opinion, guns that small are essentially for up close point shooting. A laser is just added weight, bulk, and money. Spend the $150 on more ammo or a good holster for your preferred carry method (pocket, IWB, etc).

I have the Crimson laser and really like it. Unlike target shooting, you will likely be doing more point shooting in a defensive situation, and the laser really makes that easy. With the laser on your target, you can keep your peripheral vision active to watch for accomplices or other action by the BG. You can keep your gun in close to your body to avoid having it stripped away. Of course if the guy is 4 feet away, you don't need a laser, and perhaps that's the majority of cases, but it's not all of them. Also, keep in mind even with typical armed confrontations, shooters still have a lot of misses, including LEO's.

The main downside to the Crimson laser is that you can't turn it off basically. If you grip the gun, the laser is on, which could give away your position or the element of surprise as you took aim. Would be nice to have an off switch.

It is helpful to know whether you plan to install the laser before buying a holster, as you need to find a holster that accommodates the laser.

The other point that should be stated before buying a lot of gear for this gun is that a number of folks decided the gun wasn't for them and sold it. You might consider using your gun for a bit to decide if it's reliable enough for you before going whole hog on accessories. I was pretty heavily invested into the gun, so I persevered at making it work for me and now I do have confidence in it. If you get it working 100%, it's the best CC weapon out there based mainly on size/slimness/weight, 380 recoil, trigger, accuracy and general shootability, IMHO.

I agree with erichard on all that. I prefer the CT laser for the same reason that I don't like manual safeties. Don't want to think about it when the time comes. The weight and bulk of these trigger guard lasers are negiligible, but they do change the configuration of some pocket holsters slightly, so better to know before you buy a holster. Its also probably a good idea to get comfortable with the gun and be sure its broken in before committing to either a laser or holster. But since you bought a new gun, its gonna be made good by Kahr anyway so don't worry much about that.

One big advantage to a laser is training. Watching the dot move as you dry fire will give you a lot of feedback. Good idea getting the snap caps. One thing I learned from one of muggsy's posts. With a Kahr, you don't have to eject the snap cap when dry firing. Just pull the slide back until you feel it reset, and let go, you're ready to dry fire again with the same snap cap.

I got a p380 before cw380s were available... ...No difference that means anything to me.

Same here. The CW380 had already been announced when I bought my P380, but months had gone by without an actual release date so I got fed up and purchased mine. But if I were buying today I'd definitely get the CW380. There's nothing about the P380 that makes it a better gun, only useless fluff like rounded edges and a front sight dovetail that makes it more expensive to build. And who needs polygonal rifling on a tiny pocket pistol? If there was a $50 difference maybe I'd say it's worth it, but not for what I paid for my P380.

decide not to get the CT laser for now. so bought the Talon wallet holster. also bought some snap caps but they doesn't seem fit well. a portion of the cap close to the bullet has larger diameter than the rest of the shell.
