Barrel in P9

Hello,

Kahr just sent my P9 back to me. New slide and barrel. Very difficult to impossible to get barrel out of slide for cleaning. Chamber area hits extractor and wont clear. Barrel stuck in slide ...any suggestions ? Thanks

You are removing the recoil spring and sliding the barrel forward a bit... right? The barrel should all but fall out at that point.

CLEAN the front of the barrel and slide area as best you can. Crap there can prevent proper tilting of the barrel during disassembly.

Hi Thanks, yes I have removed the recoil spring and tube and the barrel is still extremely difficult to remove. All the other semi autos I own including the P9 before Kahr replaced the barrel and slide always disassembled easily. Seems like the tolerances are too tight, hard to get the chamber area past the extractor. Thanks

Something is seriously wrong if the barrel is that tight. Call Kahr.

You may have burrs or sharp edges in the front of the slide where the barrel passes through preventing the barrel from tilting enough to clear the slide. I, too, would suggest you call Kahr since these are new parts installed by Kahr.
