Back from the Corpus Christi, Texas gunshow. It was much better than the last 2 shows. Guess more people had income tax $ and the cold rain kept them inside the show alot longer too. Sold a few clunkers early Sat.morning, so I had some $ to blow on guns.

Got these 2 guns off a guy that brought them in early on Sat. He walked them around all morning, both for 2 ills. Gotta buy both to get a deal, so it was a 2 fer thing. He was kinda pizzed cause the best offer was a bill for both. I offered another 20 bucks. didn't really want the finish worn Lorcin .380, but I had to take the bad with the good. The Marlin .22 was almost new except for a few scuffs undr the forend. The guy finally gave them up for 125..

The Marlin worked fine. Didn't shoot it at a target cause I am too blind to see the iron sights. So a scoped rifle range report later.

And the infamous Lorcin .389. Gun went bang every time as it should it was mechanically sound, 6+1 capacity, single stack, single action, striker fired. I think this pot metal beauty and a few others like Bryco, Davis, Jennings etc. are now made by Cobra Industries in Utah. So if you are into pot metal, ya can get a new one kinda like it. But, ya might be better off with a HiPoint.Anyway for 62.60, ya can't get much more. Sometimes ya gotta take the bad to get the good. And it it breaks it makes a good door stop, paper wieght, and maybe a boat anchor.

The Marlin is a great rifle. Tons of fun there. The other is... well... cute. I've only experienced somebody else's Lorcin twice in my life and both were broken.

Those old Marlin 60's are really popular. I went with the Ruger 10/22, but always lusted after a Marlin 39. Never did get one though - too many other wants.

Well, the Marlin is just for swapping anyway. Price was right. Got a couple of Ruger 10/22 stainless with Butler Creek side folders and 4X scopes mounted on them. the kids use them and I let my relatives shoot them and play Rambo with the 25 round mags. that way they will leave my AKs and expensive ammo alone.

Migh have that Marlin swapped for a blue 10/22. I have the gun already cause the guy was hoping I would swap the Beretta .32 for it and sell him the Marlin cheap. But that ain't gonna happen. He didn't want to let go of the Beretta .32 when he came to look at it. He has an old Browning .380 and a Ruger BlkHk .45 convertible that is unfired that I kinda really want. He does not shoot either of them. So, I will sweat him a while on the Beretta for one of those. He wants the Marlin too, but I don't want the $. Would rather swap him the Marlin for it. I'll be sweating him for a while on the Beretta. He just couldn't put it down. A buddy of his has one like it and won't sell it. So his is already hooked. I just have to play him a while longer and hope he doesn't come to his senses

I had a couple of 39 Marlins, the Mountie models, shorter than the long ones. I had to sell them due to a job loss in 2005. Wish I stillhad them. Also had one of the older 39s, a long one, lotta wear on it, but still worked fine. It got traded.

Well, I called him yesterday and told him I was either keeping it or I would trade it to him if he could give up something I wanted. He is kinda stuck on the Ruger, but he has never fired it. He doesn't have alot of handguns, mostly nice rifles. he doesn't swap those. However, he did mention the possibility of swapping the FN Brownnig 1910 in .380. That would work. i come across the little Berettas at the shows pretty often. Never see these come in.

Got one of the marlin model 60's must say one wonderful little rifle. With the 22" with the micro-groove barrel a load of fun and very accurate. Did a cheek cut on the stock to make the iron sights come in easier. Don’t ever think I’d give it up there was another guy I heard of that liked his also

I put a small 3X7X20mm scope on the gun cause of my poor eyesight. It helped alot cuase I can't see the iron sights anymore.

Got it zeroed last week with Fed bulk pack ammo.

My bore sighting was pretty close, so the first 2 roundsd were almost there at 40 yards. Made the adjsutments and last round went right where I wanted it. I proceeded to ventilate cans with it for a while.

There is nothing more fun than a good 22 and some cans! Right up there with warm cookies and cold milk!
