I have an older p380 which came with a spare 7 round mag, and a new cw380 for which I bought a spare 7 round mag on ebay. I have all 4 mags marked so I was able to isolate the problem when the older 7 rounder recently started giving me trouble. Maybe spring was getting weak or who knows, honestly its been used quite a bit at the range. Instead of fretting, I just sent an inquiry to Kahr explaining that I know it was isolated to that particular mag, and what do they recommend?

Answer - send it in and we'll swap it out for you. :D
Got my replacement mag in less than 2 weeks, took it out today - runs perfect. No charge except I paid the postage one way.

Point is, Kahr obviously wants your guns to work and will do what it takes. So if you're having trouble with a little 380 and you're not a genius tinkerer like some on the forum, don't be shy about sending it in. There are thousands out there running fine. Even if it takes several tries to get it reliable, I can't imagine just living with the problem or giving up and settling for a lesser gun when all it takes is some persistence. And don't blow a lot of $ on ammo hoping if you shoot it enough the problem will go away. It can't hurt to let someone else try the gun because its hard know when its operator error. But if that's not it, send it in. Rationally you know they can make it right. So let them, and get happy.

I'm a new Kahr owner, had my CM40 for a couple months. I had to call them once, and they were no help, and wanted me to pay both ways. A gunsmith got me going for $20. I'm not impressed with the company, but I do like my gun.

My experience was same as OldFatGuy, you pay shipping because they put out a gun that won't run. I told them if I couldn't get it to run I would sell it and somebody else would have the problem. One more trip to the range and I'll see if it's for sale.

^^ no excuses but they are retailing these guns for sometimes under $300....that puts a lot of strain on everything. But work with them and I bet they get your gun working right. And be persistent (but nice) and often times they pay the shipping too...

The whole point of OP's thread is to be positive and work with them.

I've had 2 P380's go back to Kahr … 1 new and 1 purchased used. Kahr paid shipping both ways. I assume the new one got the fluff and buff. The used one got parts upgraded to the new style and a mag swap out.

Both were returned to me working reliably, once you go through ammo selection. Every ammo tried worked in the 6 rd mags and I found the 7 rd mags to be finicky so I don't carry with them. I carry either one of these 2 guns every time I pocket carry.

It really is worth it once you get them running smoothly! And I've got a PM9 that has been …. flawless from the beginning when I purchased it used.

I sent my CM9 in on Christmas Eve and it was on my porch successfully repaired New Year's Eve. Kahr paid shipping both ways. I've no complaints, only kudos for Kahr Customer Service.

It's not what you say to Kahr Service, but in part, how you say it. If you go to Kahr Service with an attitude you'll probably leave with an attitude. Kahr has always repaired my guns to my satisfaction with no charge for their service. But then, of course, I'm known for being a smooth talker. :) Ain't that right, Bawanna?

The one time I called them, I was the pleasant one, he was a d!ick. My CM40 factory blem happens to shoot well, is machined completely, and as far as I can tell has no defects. But I'll never buy another one.
