Have a PM9 that something broke on the trigger mechanism when I was at the range. The trigger feels like it is not connected and a very small piece of metal fell out.
Because the trigger will not release, the slide will not come off. How do I release the mechanism so I can get the slide off to find out what has happened? Thanks Bruce

sorry to hear that. can you get the slide back far enough to check for an empty chamber? call Kahr, ask for a prepaid mailing label. send it back to the factory.

Got the slide back far enough that I could take the slide apart. The slide came right off and the trigger bar was broken. Ordered a new one. Strange that no one has made a video for YouTube. Lots of videos for the slide but not for the frame. Bruce

That's because the trigger bar is a bear to replace. You damn near have to take the entire frame apart to replace it and reassembly of the frame isn't particularly easy. Let me offer you this little piece of advice. When the trigger bar arrives send it and the gun back to Kahr. Kahr Will replace it for free if the gun is still under the five year warranty.

I got a one year warranty with my CM40 I just bought a few months ago.

have no idea why this is on the AR15 forum and not here.

good luck. you might need this too-- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUEkDc_LfKQ
(get a large freezer bag, put the gun inside for disassembly, when the spring(s) launches itself it will be trapped in the bag and not go to the hereafter.)

The youTube video was cool, the trigger disassembly was not. Hope I never have to go there.

Hmmm.....look for a "U" engraved/stamped on the trigger guard...it might be that you have a "refurbished/test fired" gun that are sold as used with a one year warranty: http://www.kahr.com/faq.asp#q26

No U, it's a new factory blem, should have the same warranty as any new Kahr. Maybe they've changed their policy since you bought your last Kahr?

Was it full price? ;)

I bought it online from FFS for $294, it was a good deal, that's why I bought. Just because I got a good deal, I don't expect different warranty or sub par treatment as a customer.

IMHO you certainly shouldn't expect sub-par treatment as a customer but I really don't understand why you expect the same product at the lower price (that includes the warranty). Just sayin'.

They put it out as new. Just tells me something about the company. What did I save? About $40. I don't see any blemish, but it didn't sell as dysfunctional.

Could be, how/where did you find out about the 1 year warranty?

It's in the box.
Thanks for the info. With it being in the box, perhaps the vendor should have been up front about it.
Hope it works out for you.

The vendor had nothing to do with it. It is the warranty from Kahr. One year for the original purchaser for any defects. I'm sure the warranty period was stated on the website. But I had my heart set on a Kahr CM40 for a while, don't know why, I just wanted a big caliber in a small gun. I love shooting the thing, problem free.

Oh well, I didn't mean to cause you any heartburn. Best wishes.

Kahr still has a "5 year limited warranty" listed on their website: http://www.kahr.com/kahr-customer-service.asp
I haven't found any mention of a one year warranty except for the previously mentioned refurbished\used guns.
Have you had a chance to contact Kahr Customer Service about this? If they are putting blems out as new then they should honor that "5 year warranty". Perhaps, there was a mix up in what warranty card went into your particular pistol's box.

Greg

Now they say "Blemished-As is" It didn't say that when mine was posted, I wouldn't have bought it. But they are only $287 now!

If you just got the gun the trigger bar should be covered under the one year warranty. If you call Kahr Service and talk to them real nice they may fix it for you for free even if it's out of warranty. You can catch more flys with honey than you can with vinegar. What the hell you're going to do with a bunch of flys after you catch them is beyond me, but it never hurts to try. :) Kahr may even provide you with a prepaid shipping label if you ask for one, but that might be pressing your luck. If not, send it back to them through your local FFL. It's a lot cheaper.

Bud's gun shop has a shipping option for folks, at $29 it is cheaper than other options. You could use it to ship back to Kahr if they will give you their FFL information: http://www.shipmygun.com/go/?utm_source=BGS&utm_medium=side%20banner&utm_campaign=BGS%20Side%20Banner

(Not that I am encouraging anyone to disassemble their Kahr pistols beyond field strip.)

When the cocking cam spring of my PM9 broke, I replaced it by myself. In the process, I had to disassemble the trigger mechanism first to remove the trigger bar. Actually it was easy to disassemble. But it was a little tricky to position everything correctly when putting them back. The key was to position the trigger spacer correctly; otherwise the trigger pivot pin would not go in. I used the smooth end of the drill bit (of the same diameter as the trigger pivot pin) as a "pilot pin," which made the process easier.

I've already peeked behind the side plate, that was fun. someday, not tomorrow, I'm going to take apart the CM9 and the CW9 for a good cleaning, polishing and lube job.
work in a large freezer bag so springs don't launch into nowhere.
good light, 2x or 3x reading glasses, headlight. comfortable chair and table. lots of coffee and cigs. clear out all the folks offended by foul language, long descriptive oathes and threats. xanax is good. once my big clumsy fingers got the tiny Kel-Tec P-32 back together and working, I knew I could do this. I'll never make rate in a production situation, but I can take a gun apart, replace a broken part and have it back together in a weekend. this is a good excuse to buy some more tools, always wanted picks and punches, goofy torx screwdrivers.

Received the trigger bar and since the gun is out of warranty I decided to replace it myself. I could always send it to Kahr in a basket. Took just a couple of minutes to dissemble the gun, and it was a bear to reassemble it. I used a piece of foam rubber jammed between the frame and the bar to hold it in place while i installed the trigger along with a small punch as a guide from the other side. I thought I had forgotten some of the mechanical terms I used, but they came back fast. Lucky i'm not on piece work. I got it together and it shoots fine. Thanks everyone for your input.
