Smiley has been eye-balling my SP101 for a long while now. Truth is it's one of the few guns she can shoot well and confidently. So she deserves it.
The Ruger was the first gun I carried so it's gonna be tough to let it go. But this should make it easier. SW 637-2, Altamont grips, Wilson Combat Springs and trigger job by Derek. I really gotta get me a gauge but I expect the trigger to come in at about 7.5-8 lbs DA and 3.5 lbs SA.
Light as a feather too!

Well, that's a kick *** little pistola!!!!!. And it has all the extra goodies. I carried an old nickle 37 Airweight for some years back in the day. Finally sold it when the nickle started gettng a bit thin. Been eyeballing the 638s myself. But I alreadyhave an LCR in .357, so it's kinda redundant. But, ya can never have enough, right?

I looked long and hard at the LCR but this one just felt better to me. And I'll admit I was a little surprised at how affordable it is. Gave me a rationale for spending the $$$ on the grips and trigger. Any excuse right? ;)

Thats a Purdy little Smith there b4uqzme!!!!...I LIKE it
With that trigger work, excellent! I've had at least one J-frame around since...I can't remember quite that far back. Go to, iwb clip on, run to the store arm is a long owned, slicked trigger/action 442. Hides and carries superbly when wearing anything short of a Speedo.

Nice! Those grips look really good on it. I'm assuming Smiley is Mrs. B4uqzeme?

Colonel gives me too much credit. Smiley is my pet name for Mrs. b4. It's kinda a reminder to her not to be so grumpy. I'm grumpy enough for this household. I also gotta admit that, while good looking, I've already removed the Altamont grips. They just didn't fit my hands well: too short fore and aft. The original Uncle Mikes are plain jane but work. Anyways, I'm on the hunt for some wood grips that I like. Gives me sumpin' to do. :D Thanks!

Uncle Mikes be my long standing preference as well. Both for J and short barrel, rb carry K-frames.
Never thought of "Smiley". Pookie has worked well here/for me, though. For a goodly number of years.

So I gave Smiley her Ruger today. She's pleased. She says she'll practice and wants to get her permit.
I shot the J-frame...mostly just to make sure it doesn't light strike (due to the new springs). 30 rounds like clockwork. Lord, revolvers are simple. After the first group, I kept all 5 shots in a 3 inch circle from 5 yards. That's shooting careful but fast like I'm saving my life but every shot counts. 158gr Lawman 38sp+P JFN. I might need to "melt" the bottom edge of the cylinder release a bit. It drew blood...not because of the recoil...just because it's sharp. Nice gun and will get lots of time as summer carry.
FYI the trigger job is great. $9.00 Wolff or Wilson Combat spring kit from Midway. 8lb hammer spring and your choice of rebound springs (I went with 14lb). Derek just stoned it for me a bit to make it smoother but the springs are what makes it light. Not too light for carry...just really close to my Kahrs and my (now her...sniff sniff) Ruger.
Thanks!
